Recently active ideas in Gaia Online

I would really like to see an option on the vend where for items such as tickets and tokens where you can sort by the lowest buy price per item. Luckily all the math is done for you now and it automatically gives the price per item, but there's no way to sort it so you know which tokens/tickets are the best value without looking through all 86 pages of people selling tokens.

Example:

Token x 4572 Buy Now 4,512g / 0.99g

I want to be able to sort by the .99g.

I would also like see an option to go to the very end of your inventory when trying to sell an item on the vend, I have to go through 5 pages to get to the last item in my inventory to sell it, and many of my friends have huge inventories and I'd really hate to how many pages they'd have to flip through to get to sell an item they just bought.

If you don't understand my suggestion (I'm not sure if I worded that the best I could) I will be happy to elaborate in more detail.

Okay, since the boards have been overtaken by bots, I think Gaia should take a different approach at solving the botting problem. Banning doesn't solve anything because more bots keep flooding the boards even after the first few have been banned.

I suggest that randomly after or before (whichever is more efficient) every bucket, there should be a captcha. This way the botters will not be able to continuously fish.

But there are, of course, some pro and cons.

Pros
-less botters
-no more botters also means less unjust bannings

Cons
-trophy fishers will be affected because they won't be able to fish continuously therefore affecting their score.

This isn't probably the best way but it can help. This could act as a temporary solution while Gaia fixes Fishing.

The only way to completely solving this problem is by Gaia's changing its system so that people won't be able to hack into it and bot.

TIME FOR ME TO LIST OFF ALL MY SUGGESTIONS! XD

I may come back and add more to this later, but here's the start of it!

1) A better store widget. When I saw that you could put your store on your profile, I thought this was really cool. But then I saw that it's just a link to your store, and the description text for your store. What I thought would be awesome would be a widget that actually lists out your current Marketplace listings.

2) Two options for the guilds widget: text links to guilds, or banner links. I know alot of guilds don't change their mini banners, but this might encourage them to do so? XD

3) A recent topics or thread subscriptions widget, similar to the "Subscribed Threads" widget on the "My Gaia" landing page. Some people don't mind having "post stalkers" and this would also be another way for people's favorite threads to gain some exposure if they chose to display it.

4) This is a recent suggestion that was proposed just yesterday but I think it's a good idea if its easily implemented XD People had discovered that adding wmode="transparent" after their URLs would turn a default white background transparent in the multimedia in old school profiles. This wasn't allowed in v2, and has been disallowed in old school now. But it was disabled because of the issues of allowing extra variables to be passed through. A solution to this was to allow it to be an option, when people added a multimedia, to turn on transparency. Checking this box would force the multimedia block to add in this code to it's default embed code on the backend, thus giving users the option of using a non-square shaped media player and not being forced to have the white background behind it if they'd rather have transparency.

5) Or an even cooler suggestion: make a Gaia Media Player :D So that way people who don't know how to go out of their way to make a music playlist (not a video one) could have their own songs playing on their profile! Yaaaay XD

6) Add in an online/offline indicator for v2?

7) CUSTOM SMILIES. When I few my profile, I see an attached stylesheet that looked like this was built in but I was fooled T_T Was this a project that got started but not finished? XD
