I have read and used your article, How to copy songs from your iPod to your PC, in the past and it has worked great for me. However, my computer recently crashed and now we own a used computer. I'm trying to use this same technique to transfer my iPod music to my 'new' computer, but I can't locate the Portable Media Device in the control panel. I've looked other places, but can't find it. Any ideas why I can't find it? Your help would be greatly appreciated!
I have never commented before, so I know I am not banned. This happened on gizmodo and other networks too. Apparently, I'm supposed to "audition" and my comments get reviewed, then based on that my commenting will go unmoderated (or something to that effect). How do I start auditioning though?
I have subscribed for the twitter updates of Lifehacker. It seems somehow the tweets of Lifehacker are publicly tweeted in my profile. Twitter found this as spamming and disabled my account as anti-social. How do I stop the lifehacker updates in my twitter? And also enable my twitter account? Twitter absolutely does nothing about this....
i posted comments to Kotaku via logging into facebook username 'faviangarcia' and they do not appear. Have done this multiple times still says i am in the 'auditioning' phase. How many months is the auditioning phase. My comments will be out of date by the time i pass this perpetual audition. I heard this was a potential technical issue, but it doesnt seem to be addressed. Remove the facebook login feature if it is broken, otherwise your users are wasting time writing paragraphxs that will never be seen!
I have a Windows XP. I need to zip a word document which is 19.5 mb. When I tried to convert it (send to compressed zip folder), I got a file which is exactly the same size as the original. I thought this was supposed to reduce the size of the original document. What am I doing wrong?
hi , when ever i use the browser opera to visit lifehacher my internet conection breaks , its never done this before untill today, i have to do a total restart, surely i am not the only one with this problem -- using windows xp.
My company needs to choose a payment gateway. I need some input on which one we should go with, Paypal Pro or Authorize.net Any suggestions would be great!
I was wondering if I can disable and delete the facebook-connect account I have with lifehacker, so that it wouldn't appear so high in google searches.
I found a bunch of topics on this site that are similar to or exactly the same as my problem, but no solutions. I'm trying to reset my password, and the e-mail never comes. Several other people have this problem. Is anybody working on it? If so, is there an eta on a fix? Are we all just SOL?
This is my last resort since I have been patiently waiting for almost a month now for a solution by sending in a couple of e-mails to the editors and such about my problem.
My problem is:
I can't change my screen name anymore. I seem to be missing that edit feature for that :/
Yes I have already scoured the site to find a similar problem and I did, but no one replied and it was asked 8 months ago.
My account on Jezebel has added several friends I did not click to follow (in particular BiteMeMitchell!) and it will not let me de-friend them either on my profile page or theirs. Please don't suggest just friending them anyway...it's not appropriate at all..
I'm on a Macbook using Firefox 3.0.11 and OS 10.4.
Trying to create my hybrid site, but I do not even get a chance. The hybrid page gets stuck forever on the "Loading" stage and never loads. I tried this on Firefox 2.0 and on Internet Explorer 7.0 and it does not work on either.
the quiksilver links on a couple of lifehacker's pages point to quicksilver.blacktree (with a 'c' in quik) instead of the proper website. this confused me for a while..
I'm unable to log in to any Gawker site. The login option that usually appears at the top of the pages has vanished and when I click on the Members: Login option that appears at the bottom of each individual post, the link just takes me to the top of the page I'm looking at.
I have the same problem on Firefox & Safari. Clearing the cache/rebooting hasn't worked.
