Adblock plus disables commenting features on gawker platform.
Adblock plus seems to be disabling the login features of lifehacker.com, or any other gawker powered sites. The login link at the top disappears and the login functions within the comments just take me to the top of the page. If I disable the addon, all is well. I'd prefer not to have to disable my addons to browse your site, please help! This functionality continues to work on Consumerist.com (which is on an older version of the Gawker platform) and this has just recently (within the past 2 weeks) begun occuring on the other gawker sites.

Inappropriate? While this isn't intentional, we can't support all browser plug-ins. Sorry!

this solves the problem

I fixed it, by going in and explicitly allowing the javascript responsible for logging in and what not - it was blocking some stuff specifically from lifehacker.com and I just allowed that. Just posting this solution in case others have the same issue. -
Inappropriate?Ah ha!
This has been driving me crazy for two months, I started having the same problems. Ive been using ABP for so long now I don't even think of it when things don't work. Plus Consumerist was still working fine so I figured it was some kind of bug that had been introduced since Consumerist was sold.
Thanks for making the connection.

It's the "minify.php" script, so if you go in and specifically whitelist it (so far I've had to do it separately for each gawker site) it reenables the login and commenting. -
Inappropriate?I posted this to a couple questions already and I know Elanor has this solved, but unblocking individual scripts might be hard to some people trying to use AdBlock.
If you're using AdBlock Plus or a similar ad blocker, you need to create an exception rule for the gawker blogs. Create one for each main URL like:
@@consumerist.com
@@gizmodo.com
@@lifehacker.com
Then AdBlock will not prevent you from logging in to comment.
Those three you can add by opening the AdBlock Plus preferences, adding a new filter, then just put in one line for each. Keep the @@ symbols in there.
