Can't favorite articles on Life Hacker
I don't appear to be able to clip or "favorite" articles on LH anymore. What gives?

Inappropriate? The heart icon for clipping favorites is no longer there. I am logged on to lifehacker. Does anyone have a solution please?
-
Inappropriate? It doesnt matter what browser or computer I use.
Is it because Ive exceeded some maximum number of favorites?
My account has not been approved yet but I was able to mark favorites until recently.
I would think the site developers would find this issue interesting. -
Inappropriate?I had this problem for a month or so, a while back. Eventually it fixed itself and I'm not really sure why. I know at some point I cleared my cookies and cache, but I didn't check right away to see if it fixed this (it was for another problem) so I couldn't say whether that might help any.
-
Inappropriate?no I tried that & like I say its the same on different browsers
-
Inappropriate?Me too. I think the reason is that you are not logged in despite inputing your username and password. Its not been accepting mine for the last few days. Frustrating as hell.
-
Inappropriate?I seem to be logged on , I can look at my profile & existing favorites
-
Inappropriate?I thought it was just me being unable to find the favorites button/icon on io9. I see I have a favorites section but no way to add the articles. Is there something I could be missing?
I’m discombobulated

Inappropriate?Any chance of a reply from the Gawker Tech Team?????
-
Inappropriate?Same here. For over a week now, the little heart does not appear, so there is no way to mark a post as a fave. Tried disabling the adblockplus and noscript, but it did not help. I use FF. Dusted off IE, same problem there.
-
Inappropriate?I had previously mentioned that my missing heart resolved itself a while back. Sadly, it's been gone again for over a week now, and no amount of futzing around has brought it back.
-
Inappropriate?Same problem for me. As above, heart icon disappeared a few months ago for a month or two, then came back, now disappeared again...
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?Hey, is there any reply from the tech team?
I don't really think it's a small problem.
-
Inappropriate?I have this problem as well, and reported it in a different thread about a week ago. I'm really disheartened by the fact that nobody at LH is answering any of these posts.
I love Lifehacker, and I tend to do what the LH team asks, and pay attention to ads from their sponsors. However, given the fact that the tech team is completely ignoring its users, I'm now going to completely ignore any LH requests to follow sponsor links. You gotta give if you want to get.
I’m pissed off!
-
Inappropriate?I forwarded this on to the LH editors and they said they'd look into it. Hopefully that gets this issue on the tech team's radar.
I’m unimpressed with getsatisfaction.com
-
Inappropriate?Fixed for me, too. Very happy that it's back, but would still like to have an explanation from the Lifehacker team.
Eric, I assume we finally got some action on this because you contacted the LH editors -- thanks for doing that! It's unfortunate that clicking the "Report a problem" link doesn't seem to do any good at all, and next time I have a problem, methinks I will go directly to an editor.
shelley
I’m relieved that this problem has finally been addressed.
-
Inappropriate?I think the lack of response here to our problem is ridiculous. I, too, had to email the editors and I even made my frustration known yesterday by commenting on a random thread. Not one response from Gawker/LH - what a joke!
-
Inappropriate?Had this problem on Lifehacker a few months ago, reported it here, and it DID get fixed, but it took a while -- and if memory serves me correctly, the fix happened only after somebody else reported it to a Lifehacker editor. I may try that if it's not fixed in a day or two.
I’m frustrated

So, I should e-mail one of the Kotaku editors? Seems odd to have a support site if it's not useful. =/
Problem still exists. Wondering if I hit a "max clipped articles limit", though I doubt it. -
Inappropriate? Can I at least get a response that someone at tech support has read this message? This problem still exists.
Unrelated: I think that Kotaku's code is a bit resource hoggy; opening multiple Kotaku tabs starts causing a fair bit of CPU usage.
I’m still frustrated

Inappropriate? This functionality is no longer supported.
The company says
this answers the question
-
In that case, the following should be updated: "Your account has not yet been approved but you can edit your profile, add friends, and clip articles."
Why was this functionality removed? Will it be added back in later? Shouldn't this kind of feature removal have an announcement somewhere? If there was an announcement, could you point us to it? Thank you for your help! -
Pretty disappointing Gawker. Bring the hearts back, its nice to be able to reference a post from the site rather than save it in my browser bookmarks. -
That's AWESOME how it only took you guys five months to respond!
First post: "Eric asked this question 6 months ago."
First response from an "Official Rep": "Tom Plunkett , Official Rep, replied 18 days ago", offering no explanation either for the removed functionality or for ignoring the thread for nearly six months.
Why even bother having this site set up here if concerns are ignored? Looks like a complete joke. -
Inappropriate?@ Tom: That is just an inane answer. Why is this so? Why do they not support this functionality anymore?
I’m disgusted
