Lifehacker Twitter direct messages--did I subscribe for these?
Why am I getting direct Twitter messages from myself with Lifehacker posts?
I think that perhaps I signed up through Lifehacker to get top stories direct messaged to me through my Twitter. However, a search of my email account, twitter account, and Lifehacker itself has turned up no way to turn it off.
It is possible that I set this up somewhere, months ago, and it finally went through. However, I am not sure, and would love to hear from Lifehacker if this was something on their end.
Thanks!

Unfortunately, this is controlled by Twitter, not us. I suggest you turn off your mobile phone messages at http://twitter.com/devices

Inappropriate?Bumped, because I am still getting top stories direct messaged to me and it's pretty irritating. Anyone know where these are coming from?

Inappropriate?I'm going insane trying to delete these from Gawker. The most irritating thing is that I go to the site constantly so by the time I check these on Twitter they are old news! Help me get rid of them!

I do not have mobile phone messages enabled and never have and I continue to get a plethora of Lifehacker direct messages daily.
This doesn't seem to be Twitter's problem, Scott. -
Inappropriate?Mine stopped, too, and I would guess that's why--I did change my password at one point.
Awesome! -

Like we said above, try changing your twitter password. Seemed to work! -
Inappropriate? That didn't work either. Any more suggestions? I've already gotten 10 new messages since I posted this morning.
