New layout does not work on IE7 & Chrome!

The new design on Gawker blogs (particularly Lifehacker and The Consumerist) does not display on IE7. It works fine in Firefox and Opera but is completely unusable in IE7 and Chrome. You can see what I mean in the below screenshot.

Please, please, please fix this (in IE7 at least) and if you have any more questions do ask!
