Why are comments disabled for my account?
I have never commented before, so I know I am not banned. This happened on gizmodo and other networks too. Apparently, I'm supposed to "audition" and my comments get reviewed, then based on that my commenting will go unmoderated (or something to that effect). How do I start auditioning though?

Can you please please please.have a look at ashlar on Kotaku. I can see where I maybe should have gotten a warning... but I think ista-disable is a bit too harsh. -
There won't be any warnings for calling other commenters offensive terms. The moderators don't have time to send out warnings for things that should be common sense/lessons you learned in grade school. I'll give you another chance, but I can't reactivate you if it happens again, so watch what you say.

I'm having a similar problem. I registered on Jezebel about a month ago and I've made quite a few comments, but my account still hasn't been approved. I'd appreciate it if you could check to see why that's been happening. My username is MalinaMango.

Okay, found it. yamato57 is the username and yamato is the displayname. The account is still in the audition phase, so I recommend making more comments.

Inappropriate?I can't comment on Gizmodo. I try to post comments and they act like they went through, but my comments have red boxes around them. As soon as I refresh the pages my comments always disappear. I registered my name, chaoticreefer, months ago and there still hasn't been a change. Please help, I really would appreciate it.

Inappropriate?I also have this issue, with the account "ijyt". I can't remember how long ago I tried posting, but it was before the new system. I have had no information about the status of the audition phase, and none of my comments have ever shown up.
It's a frustrating system for people who enjoy the blogs yet can't reply once in a while.

Funny how my post about Steve Jobs picture not being newsworthy earned me an instant ban. If Giz hates ppl for saying non-positive things about Apple so much, why don't they just put a banner on top of the main page warning people about that?

I'm sure the person posting his news doesn't want to hear it's not news worthy. If you don't like the content, you don't have to go to the site. Also, does one update really offend you so much to declare such a statement. Perhaps if it were a feature and overtook the website it could warrant an outcry...but you were just being rude.

Inappropriate?Please. You didn't see the post I made. Those that got offended had colored glasses and pretty much went on a witchhunt over what I wrote, even going as far as cursing me to some nasty end. Those that actually read what I wrote without foregone conclusion didn't admonish me.
Anyone's allowed to post on the site, so long as they follow the rules. If I went against site rule I have no problem being banned. But the comment was NOT in violation, it just happened that it was opposed to Apple, which apparently is a taboo at Giz.
Whatever, I gave up a long time ago trying to post on Jalopnik which is the site I actually visit these days. I couldn't care less WTH happens over at Giz anymore, anyway.
