Why are comments disabled on Gawker sites?
Hello! I am just wondering, why is my Gawker account status: "comments disabled?" I have been commenting for a while, and don't think I have violated any terms of use... What's the deal? I need my daily fix of Giz to function. If I have done something, no worries, it's my bad. Oh yeah. My username is Jakooboo. Thanks in adwance for the assistance.

Inappropriate?Hi there,
Something TRULY odd happened in one of my comments on Jezebel and all of the vowels were removed from the comment! I have no idea how this occurred, as I am not talented enough to do that without much consternation. I connect through Facebook - has any other user encountered this problem? I hope to be reinstated. The removal of vowels was actually done by a moderator who apparently didn't consider the content of your comment to be appropriate. See the wikipedia entry on the concept of disemvoweling for more information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disemvow.... It's basically a warning to watch what you say. Sometimes disemvoweling is accompanied by a ban as well, depending on whether or not the moderator deems the offense serious enough. What's the username of your account?
