"Stop following topic" has a bug
I selected to "stop following a topic" but the thread from that topic continues to show up in my dashboard.

This was the consequence of people who had multiple accounts setup inside Get Satisfaction. If they unfollowed a topic with one account and were still following it with another account they would still receive email updates. The fix is to limit yourself to one account.

Inappropriate?Hmmm. We are in the middle of revising that dashboard, but this shouldn't be the case. Let me check on that and get back to you. Thanks for the eagle eyes!

Inappropriate?Hey Rene, can you give me a little more detail about what you were expecting and what actually happened?
I think what you're saying is that new updates from topics you stopped following are showing in your dashboard. Is that correct? -
Inappropriate?Hi Cameron! I think I see what you're getting at. I was expecting the entire thread to disappear from my dashboard. Is it such that only posts AFTER I select to stop following are not shown, but posts before my selection are still shown?
If so, it would be nice to give the user the option to have the entire thread stop showing on their dashboard (there's precious little space as it is!)
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?Hi Rene, it is as you say. After you stop following a topic, you won't get new entries in your dashboard, but existing ones stay there. The idea is that it's a kind of historical record. We've been working on a bunch of ideas for how we can improve the usefulness of the dashboard, especially with regard to clustering older items into logical chunks and highlighting more detail for things that have happened recently. Thank you for the feedback. We are always interested in hearing what our users want to see from us.
I’m thankful, too

Inappropriate?Okay thanks very much Cameron! My 2 cents for how to handle it...
1.0 show user's "currently followed" topics by default
1.1 start with simple collapsed "list" view with option to explode individual list entries
2.0 have link to "previously followed topics"
Hope you don't mind - thanks very much and keep up the good work!
I’m happy

Inappropriate? That's been a week I've tried to stop following the "How about making this community multilingual?" idea, but I still receive a message on each new item in the topic.
Link in the mail to stop following the idea:

Please do something, it's quite annoying...
I’m frustrated

I have this in our bug-tracking system. Thanks again for reporting it. -
alx, I think I figured it out. There are two accounts in our system for you. In addition to the one you're posting from, you appear to have started this one a year ago: http://getsatisfaction.com/people/alx. I've turned off emails for that account, so you won't receive any more notifications. -
Inappropriate? Thanks for letting us know, alx. It would be awesome if this were a new topic so I could track it better, but I'll do my best to get a fix in if there is a bug here.
