Inappropriate?Good idea. We've talked about this. We don't have a date, but this is definitely a good idea.

Inappropriate?Hi Eric,
Do you have any updates on Facebook Connect implementation, and timing?
Thanks,
Adam -
Inappropriate?I do not. I'll check, but I do not think this is on the roadmap in the near future.
-
Inappropriate?Just checked. No, I don't have a date, but it is on the consideration list and we'd love to do it.
-
Inappropriate?Got it, thanks Eric. We use Facebook Connect as our primary login, so it would make things nice and easy.
-
Inappropriate? All we have are facebook applications.. So single-sign-on integration with facebook would be the best.. (facebook connect is a good option). So that our users don't have to go create a new profile elsewhere.. etc etc.. please move this up in priority! :)

Inappropriate?i also support the idea of facebook connect, makes life much easier since the whole world is on facebook and the only way to get friends across is via facebook connect - people are reluctant to create profiles from scratch
I’m supporting the idea
-
Inappropriate?Yes please. You already have something similar with Windows Live and Open ID sign-in, but Facebook Connect is the really important one.
-
Good to here -
Inappropriate?Yes, we are alpha testing this now. This is slated for a September release.
-
Great! Thank you. -
Woohoo! -
Great news! -
Can we opt our community into the alpha test? -
Sure! Shoot me an email at eric [at] getsatisfaction [dot] com. -
Inappropriate?Hi Thor, I love this idea too but I have one question - will we be able to associate our facebook IDs with our current GetSat logins? that would be really important to me and I expect a lot of others round here. Glad thuis is in the works - keep up the good work!
I’m excited
-
Yes, this upcoming feature will extend your current account. -
Inappropriate?I am pleased to announce that we have publicly released support for third party logins such as Facebook Connect as of today. Let us know what you think.
Woohoo!

That's great news! Is there a way of linking a existing account to a Facebook account? -
Yes! Right after you login via Facebook (or other) you will be asked for an email address. Use the same email as your primary account and check the box that says this email is already in use with a GS account. -
This didn't work for me unfortunately. I tried with both of the email addresses I have associated with getsat and I got a little yellow error message saying something unexpected happened with the server. Is that an issue? shall i just try again in a while and see if it likes me? Looking forward to it working :) -
Tim, you're welcome to try again, but my guess is that there's something with your account that makes it an edge case that throws an error. We may need to debug it separately. Let me confer with my team and I'll be in touch privately. -
Thanks Thor. This is the error I get: "The server returned an unexpected response. Please try again, or contact us if the error continues." -
I've got the same error. "The server returned an unexpected response." Is it possibly because the email address that I used for my Facebook account and the email address for my GS account are different? -
Tadhg, Facebook doesn't provide an email address to us. But it's helpful to know that several of you are having this issue--it's easier to triangulate when we have multiple data points.
I have started a new problem topic where we can continue to track the solution:

Inappropriate?Seamless! Awesome Thor and opens up our entire Cafe's overseas to see our presence quickly.

I’m excited
-
Inappropriate? Is it just the ability to login using Facebook at the moment, or will the stuff you do on GS be published to your Facebook profile aswell?

Inappropriate? You can login as well as share the "Add facebook connect to getsatisfaction" part of this string by hitting share on Facebook so it is a great way to inform others on my network of things our group is addressing.
~Clint
I’m thankful
