Add Google Blog Search to the Overheard Feature
I'd love to see Google Blog Search added to the overheard feature. Right now I subscribe to searches in Google Reader and respond directly on blogs that discuss our service. I'd rather respond in Get Satisfaction, sending a trackback to the blog and then bringing it in to our service and/or blog via a widget. Just a thought, but I know we would use it.

Inappropriate? This is a great idea. We definitely plane to enhance & evolve Overheard in the coming months so stay tuned!
I’m excited by the possibilities.

Inappropriate?I'm a huge fan of this idea. We have a number of different types of feeds or details we could track, like posts from the blogosphere and Google Alerts. I think this kind of thing provides huge value, so I'll definitely join you in championing this.
I’m right there with you!

Inappropriate?Yay!
I agree that there's a lot of feeds you could use, but the most powerful thing about the integration with Twitter in Overheard today is how the user gets notified that this was picked up on. So hopefully new additions can follow that same pattern.
I’m excited

Inappropriate?Agreed. You said it, that is the most powerful part. Now, I guess the hard part is (and I am not one of the technically minded people at Get Satisfaction) figuring out how to do that for each blog platform. That part doesn't sound so easy or fun, but I wonder if there is a way to do it via comments on blogs. Hmmm.
I’m going to keep thinking about this one

Eric, yes I believe there is a way which (in my totally unqualified opinion) shouldn't be that difficult - just use the feed provided by the blog-content aggregator of your choice: digg, technorati, whatever! -
Inappropriate?Where possible this could be done with Trackbacks. Many blogs don't support trackbacks, of course, but a good number of them do, particularly those on Wordpress or Moveable Type (if memory serves).
-
Inappropriate?Yup, that was my initial though as well. A trackback would get us a long way for a start.

Inappropriate?Hello! May I revive this thread please?
I too think extending "that which is overheard" into the blogosphere will give companies using GS a crazy-powerful tool! And it is definitely a major sell-point for GS too.
So it's been four months now (at least from the date-stamps on these posts) - is "overheard" any closer to this extension now?
(I also commented on Eric's post above) -
Inappropriate?I am definitely with you, Rene. I think this would be huge. The current Overheard feature is already amazingly helpful, especially for company employees who may not have tried out tools for monitoring the Internet in this manner. We haven't made any progress on this because we've been working on other things, but I'd like to get this on the roadmap.

Hiya Eric! How's this baby coming along?... -
Well, it's not really moving. We're about to have a big meeting to brainstorm our next steps, and I'll put a word in for this one, but right now this one is still theoretical. -
Actually, I misspoke. It's not slated for the next 2-3 months, but it's definitely high on our wish list. -
Thanks Eric! I'm just being a nag...
