Analytics for my company's presence on GS?
If I put my company support up on GetSatisfaction, can i see the analytics associated with it? For example, can i see which users came from google, etc?

We are working on the designs for a company dashboard right now!
The kinds of analytics we'll be able to gather are going to go above and beyond a traditional forum set-up. We can help provide an understanding your company's place in the marketplace relative to their industry could prove to be very valuable. With tags and our more flexible category system important internal trends will bubble up as well. A great example is the bag maker Timbuk2, they realized through using Get Satisfaction that FIT (or what can fit into different bags) was quickly becoming one of the biggest issues for their customers. They hadn't seen this issue so clearly before, so now they are working to provide more resources to customers to answer their questions about fit.
Speaking of value, we plan on keeping this basic version of Get Satisfaction free for everyone. We're looking at the additional value provided when GS goes above and beyond what other services can provide and putting together some pricing packages. So the full set of analytic's features may not be free, but we'll be sure to make it's worth it.

Inappropriate? This is a great question. Right now the answer is no, but we have some exciting plans in that area. Maybe some other members of our team have more to say about those plans...
I'm glad your friend is impressed with Get Satisfaction! We really like it, and we have a lot more vision about its future.
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?Hi cameron - ok! Analytics are important part of the pie. Versus them having their own forum, where they can track everything, this will be a good piece to have, :)

Inappropriate?Hey Ms Useful, thanks, this was really useful.
"Understanding your company's place in the marketplace relative to their industry could prove to be very valuable."
How comfortable are companies going to be having their internals gutted out into the open?
"With tags and our more flexible category system important internal trends will bubble up as well."
This is super ultra cool. Very often, significant trends and issues get lost admidst information overload. Having some intelligence in there would be pretty amazing.
"So the full set of analytic's features may not be free, but we'll be sure to make it's worth it."
Hmmm... not a problem as long as we move into more "actionable" data-sets, away from the raw data sets that say... google analytics offer.

We're not going to be "gutting" a company's internals! That wouldn't foster the kind of trust we have staked our business on. What Leslie is describing is benchmarking a company's performance against their category (not individual companies). For instance, if "other Web companies" have a time-to-response of under 10 minutes, then that helps to set internal team goals.

Exactly!

Inappropriate?Mind giving us some status update on getting some analytics out of GS forum? Thanks :)
I’m confident

Inappropriate?Jure, analytics has been put on hold for the moment. We have had to make some difficult trade-offs recently, and postponing development work for analytics was one of the things we decided was prudent. That is the update for now.
