Announcing a new open source project for iPhone developers to embed a feedback widget within their apps
A few people requested the ability to embed a feedback widget within their app after seeing the standalone Satisfaction Remote app. I figure it was a good idea, so here it is. It's a simplified version, for just 1 company and product.

Inappropriate?I see a button for sign in on the bottom. Is this optional for users?

Inappropriate?Jeremy, technically, you could hide the button pretty easily, but then users wouldn't be able to post a new topic (everything would be read-only). Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your viewpoint), Get Satisfaction requires users to be logged in to post anything... same goes for their JavaScript widget. There's a thread about it here:

I’m sad

Inappropriate? Thanks for the link to the discussion. I guess I'm concerned at how easy this would be for iPhone users then, if it requires a registration to another service before contributing feedback or asking for support. Perhaps email is still the best way to go here? Sheesh. I really loved the idea of this service until I got to this part. Have you any experiences with your module and usability that you can share?

I agree that it's less than ideal, especially for new users. There is a request to optimize the signup process for iPhone users here:

Inappropriate? We're looking at options here. We provide a premium component called FastPass that allows companies to pass in authenticated users seamlessly, but it is not integrated into this library. We definitely want to make this easier!

Inappropriate?I wonder if there's a control to pull in an iPhone user's name and default email from their phone's user settings and prefill registration with this info and then just ask to confirm. Would be quick and easy that way.
