We now support additional emails, and you can change your primary email address for login purposes. Just click on your name in the top navigation bar, then click Account Setting, then on the right navigation links click Email & Notifications. You'll see a link that says Add New Email--clicking this will reveal a field where you can add your new email address and a checkbox which says "Make this my primary email address." Select that checkbox if you want to login with this account.

Inappropriate?These are coming! There were some good reasons why we have these intermediate user codes, but I can't remember what they are. Perhaps one of the more product-focused team members here will pipe in and explain.

Inappropriate?The reason we don't have the friendly urls yet are both technical and design-oriented.
First, we prioritized other things on the design front, and an interface for changing your url was never created. The reason we wanted to give special consideration to this is because it has more ramifications than other user edits.
For example, bookmarks would break, and search indexes would point to non-existent documents. Working around that is the technical issue I alluded to in the first sentence of this post.
We want to make the process simple enough that everyone could discover and easily understand what they are doing when the edit their urls. Thats the design problem.
On the bright side, the capacity in our routing system and our data model is already in place.

Inappropriate?friendly personalized URLs are definitely coming, along with a lot of changes to the dashboard area to monitor stuff you've participated in (and stuff you're interested in.) give us a couple weeks. :)

Inappropriate?shadowfax: Is it possible that you signed up with a different e-mail address? Did you add that e-mail address to your account at some point? You can have multiple e-mail addresses on your account, but I want to check this first, and we'll go from there.

I can see no way to change this so that it just reads "drumgit". I think my browser autofilled some field during account creation and I didn't notice.
Am I stuck with this? Can it be changed? Do I need to delete the account and recreate?

Inappropriate?Sorry, I forgot to mention. the drumgit_gmail url will still be accessible for around a day, but after our caches expire it will no longer be available. I hope that is acceptable for you.
If that isn't acceptable, I can go rooting around in the plumbing to purge it now, but it is kind of a pain. I'm fine with either way, so I'll let you describe.2 Comments Add a comment

Have you tried clicking the Forgot Password link? If not, try that. You should get an email that will allow you to then go back in and re-set your password.

When I change my password I get an email link that I follow but when i enter a login and a password, Twitter won't recognize one or both of them. Hi Chris, Did you try adding the other email address on this page? http://getsatisfaction.com/people/chr... You can add a second email address there and then make it your primary email address for receiving notifications.

Inappropriate?I have been trying to add my blog, twitter and personal photo but I can't find the option to save the changes. What steps must I take to add these features to my profile. I have gone thru Dashboard and account settings. I am in the right place but after I enter all info. there is no option to save the changes. After I sign out and return all acct. info. has defaulted back to when I originally set the acct. up!

Situation:
- I signed up to create a company - Twinstang - under [private data removed]
- I forgot that I had already signed up as a normal user as [private data removed]
- I now have my profile at etc/scottmotte and etc/scott_motte
- I've deleted the etc/scottmotte one so that I can change the current etc/scott_motte to scottmotte, but the delete is not a total delete. I'm guessing you guys keep the user around in the database and just mark the user as deleted.
Is there any way you can completely delete my former scottmotte [private data removed] so that I can then just use the [private data removed] and setup additional emails for it, etc?
Thanks and sorry about the mess! I understand if you can complete this request. I should have signed in with my [private data removed] first and then added the company.

It was ultimately resolved but now getsatisfaction has three personal email addresses of mine publicly visible on my profile. I'm trying to figure out how to either delete these responses or make my profile private. Or even just redact my contact info. Is there a way to do this? Thanks...

This is the exact problem, I have, I have messages on face book that are on my husband's computer. I know this, because I forwarded the e-mails to my new address. I used my e-mail address that I no longer share with my husband. Why do you make a simple request so difficult?! To share my life story, I have a new computer ,my old computer died two weeks ago, I shopped and purchased one, the software was corrupt, ,exchanged it for another computer, again the software was corrupt#$%*^ I now have the third computer and I cannot use face book because I cannot use my e-mail. my use of my husband's e-mail got me in this situation. He really is not interested in facebook. He was just trying to be a nice guy and let me use his until I had a new computer up and running! Now I find I can not use my e-mail. Mr. perwiklander I am disgusted as you must be also. Now I probably can't close my account!
