Does Get Satisfaction have a 'archive' function?
Is there a way for a company rep/admin to archive old posts that are cluttering up their page?
The reason I ask is that over on the Spotify GS page (/spotify) there are quite a few questions asking when the Spotify iPhone app is coming out, and a few ideas asking for a Spotify iPhone app. Now that it the iPhone app is available, can these posts be archived away, so that they are still available for people to view in a 'archive' section, but don't appear on the main Spotify page?
Also, is there a way to merge posts that ask/propose the same thing?

Yes, we have a function called "Bury" which we plan on renaming Archive. It removes the topic from search and the highlights page, and has the effect of pushing it off the activity stream unless someone posts a new reply to it.
We also have a merge feature that does exactly what it sounds like.

Inappropriate?By the way, the features Thor is referencing are available with our "Manage" plan. They are part of the set of moderation tools.

Inappropriate?I'm not sure exactly what archive does. I merged a topic into an authoritative one and was disappointed to see it still appearing in the activity stream right below the topic I merged it into. So I "archived" it, which appears to have had no effect.
I’m frustrated that functionality doesn't behave as expected.

Inappropriate?Good question, Jamie. You always have good questions. Archive removes it from search *and* the ability to be bumped up in the activity stream. So, that topic will go down to the bottom as the stream grows. But not immediately. (Remove removes it from search and the stream immediately.)

Thanks for the clarification Eric. Why doesn't merge remove the non-authoritative topic from the Activity Stream? -
It should indeed remove merged topics from the stream. I'll look into this, and make sure it gets fixed. -
A note to clarify: I could be wrong, but I believe it does work a little differently if the topic has replies vs. not having replies. Currently, if a topic has no replies, it will be removed from the stream; if it has replies, it will not be removed from the stream. We could always change this, of course.
