Inappropriate?Greg, we have a fifteen minute window, after which topics and replies aren't editable. I suppose an argument could be made that if no one has responded to a topic it could be editable beyond that fifteen minute window. I hadnt' thought of it in that way.
I’m getting new ideas

Inappropriate?Eric: that's what I was trying to suggest... that you allow editing up until the time that somebody makes a response but not after that... whether you choose to implement it or not, I've at least managed to put it on your radar, so I'll consider this closed... thanks for your responsiveness.
I’m content

Inappropriate?Yes, thanks for that. Can't believe we haven't thought about it before. I'll share with everyone here.

Inappropriate? We have though about it before, and I can't remember exactly why we decided to go with the current rules, but I assure you that there was lengthy discussion about it.
It's always worth discussing things like this again, though. We'll see what happens as we move forward with some of our initiatives this summer if this request finds its way into our feature set.
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?I think the main reason that we put a cap on editing is that just because someone hasn't posted to the topic, it doesn't mean that people haven't read it, followed it, tagged it, etc. Allowing you to change the content far into the future would work to break that additional data and confuse people. I'm wary of someone editting a topic 1 year from now, for example.

Ah yes, good point. -
Inappropriate?Exactly! I knew we had a good reason, I just have a bad memory, I guess...
I’m forgetful
