Forum users to mark problem as solved and "this answers the question"
A two-fold question here!
1. Are forum users able to mark their own question as being solved when a solution has been provided? If not, this may be a useful tool.
2. The ability to select "This answers the question", seems to be only available when you "reply" to the original post.. but not when you "add a comment". Many times forum users may respond to someone query by adding a comment and in that comment, provide the answer. However, you cannot select "This answers the question" as it's only available in the "reply" section. Can this be added?

Inappropriate? It's like you're listening in on our product planning meeting! Your number 1 is in the short term roadmap.
Number 2 requires some deeper consideration. We originally designed the comments as asides so they could be more lightweight than a full reply. Do you find that people provide canonic answers in the comment space often? -
Great minds think alike! =)
In regards to Number 2 - yes... I do find that a number of canonical answers are found in the comment space. In fact, I would say that both are used equally in giving the answers! Because a number of answers are provided in the comment section, it would also be valuable to include the option to upload images in that area as well. This is taken from my feature request that I posted some time ago: http://getsatisfaction.com/getsatisfa...
