@getsatisfaction are there any plans for an iPhone version of your site? I have an idea if you are - let's talk.

Inappropriate?Currently, there are no plans to do this, but let's start a conversation about it!
I’m interested

Inappropriate?I think that a native iPhone app (or at least an iPhone-friendly mobile interface) would be great for those of us with iPhones who like to regularly answer questions on Get Satisfaction, but find it too inefficient to browser and zoom the standard interface on our iPhones.
-
Absolutely with you on this one. I'm an iPhone phanatic. -
yes iphone has become essential to me so just a 'iphone friendly' site would be great on its own. an app may not be that necessary. -
Inappropriate?I wonder why everything has to have an Iphone Interface and not a more generic mobile interface!
Granted, build something for more platforms requires a lot more trouble, but being able to access GetSatisfaction by using BlackBerry or a WM equipped phone will broader a lot it usefulness!
I’m thinking that the world is bigger than the iPhone.
-
why not do both. many sites do that already with regular mobile and iphone interfaces side by side. note that the iphone mobile format is specifically tailored to the iphone's display so it looks and works great. -
Inappropriate?iPhone interfaces operate differently than typical mobile interfaces. A typical mobile device only needs to have the data presented in a format that fits its screen, and it can then be navigated either with buttons or a stylus. An iPhone needs to have the data formatted to fit its screen as well, but primarily needs to have it presented in a way that is comfortably large enough to navigate with human fingers without having to zoom in, otherwise an iPhone user might as well use the main site.
Yes, as you pointed out, "the world is bigger than the iPhone", but it's also bigger than a BlackBerry or a WM equipped phone. Having just a mobile interface for typical mobile devices will alienate iPhone users just as much as having just a mobile interface for iPhones will alienate typical mobile devices.
So, in summary, it would be nice to have mobile interfaces for both iPhones and typical mobile devices.
