Trouble logging into GetSatisfaction
I can't get into Get Satisfaction. I have two standard email addresses and logins/passwords. GS doesn't recognise either of them. It just says (annoyingly) "That email address is taken".
Even more annoyingly, there isn't a support email for GetSatisfaction to get ID and password issues. resolved. The absolute height of stupidity is that you have to log in to report that you can't log in. I have had to resort to adding yet another GS account just to tell you that youyr login procedure don;t work well and there's no facility for helping with lost passwords etc

Inappropriate?Perhaps it's fairer to say that the error message on that page sucks. We should provide a Forgot Password link as part of that message. Sorry!
You can reset your password for any account just by clicking the login link on the top right. There's a Forgot Password? link on that page.
As for a support email address, it is support at getsatisfaction dot com. We treat the community as a kind of public email, though, so that's our default mode.
Again, apologies for your frustration. We'll fix up that problem. Let us know if there's anything else we can help you with. -
I made the point that you have to log in to report that you cannot log in. This is a piece of interface incompetence... really basic stuff. Also, you have not said that you will correct the other glaring fault -- you should put your support@ email address, if not prominently, where it can easily be found. These are well tried and tested protocols that are followed by everyone else in the online community. It is just arrogance to make your own rules, especially when they create real problems for customers, as I have taken some trouble to spell out. -
Thanks for taking the trouble to make these reasonable points. We're always working on refining our service, so this is very helpful.
Were you able to reset your password effectively? -
Hi greiggy,
Also, we do post an email address on our about page: http://getsatisfaction.com/about
As well as our toll-free phone number on home page: http://getsatisfaction.com
However, we should probably surface the contact email in more areas of the site. -
Inappropriate?Did you try accounts@getsatisfaction.com?
Did you try the I forgot my password box directly under the log-in section?
I only see one account attached to your IP address.
You can email me at eric [at] getsatisfaction [dot] com and I'll do my best to help. -
Inappropriate?Greiggy, would you have a problem with me changing the title of this post to something that more accurately reflects the conversation going on here? It will make it more useful for people who might have the same problem and go searching for it later.
I won't do it unless you ok it, but when there's a good conversation going on underneath that might be useful to other people in the future, we try and make it as findable as possible. -
Inappropriate?Get Satisfaction sucks. Couldn't you transfer to one of the better forums -- there are plenty to choose from.
1. Can't see the different threads
2. Login usually fails -- it is unduly troublesome (and I'm an experienced user)
3. Just a rubbish resource -- I want to be able to see what issues/feedback others have reported, and learn from them

Get Satisfaction sucks.
I’m fed up
