Google Analytics in the account
It would be nice to have the option of including google analytics into an account to get more information about how the service is being used... is there any possibility to do this?

Just adding another post with a sad face in a hope that it will be picked up by GS support staff. This feature should be no brainer!

Any official response? I'm happy to pay for added functionality and hard work from the GS team, but all we're asking is a place to pop in our own tracking code, doesn't seem like a $9k/yr additional value....

Many other services offer a way to plug in a GA tracking code to track web activity, something like this would be great for GS, too!

I agree this would be very useful. The stats overview within the Admin UI is nice but being able to view more detailed analytics available via GA (like page views to specific topics over time, etc) would be very useful.

We currently do use Google Analytics for our GS account. You will need to have paid for the ability to customize the footer as shown in this Developers - Customization tutorial. After you have access to Admin > Customization (in your Community Tools), just create a Google Analytics account and add the javascript into the footer for your GS site.
A couple of my favorite uses for Google Analytics with GS are tracking how many people are finding results when they search, and how many people are showing up from widget referrals. -

@Arielle when you say "paid for the ability to customize footer", you mean their $899/month plan, right? We are currently at their $100/month plan, and do not have this options. Seems to steep of a price for just Google analytics access

I agree also. Just adding a GA tag should be available at the lower end subscription tiers.

The ability to add GA to a "Customize" plan isn't really a feature that was implemented, it's a side effect of the customizability/templates.
GA tracking as a feature would be a field in the GS control panel to enter your GA tracker id. GS would then auto-magically insert the tracking code.
The ability to track through GA would go a long way to prove the viability of the higher-tier plans. If I can't demonstrate that our users are using GS the way we want, then I can't get approval to buy Customize. :) -

Having statistics on usage from Google Analytics would allow us to better tune our support and feedback pages. It would make having a GetSatisfaction paid account much more useful. Offer the GA at the lower price tiers - you'll make us all happy

I can not believe that 1 year has passed, and there was not even acknowledgement of the problem from GS ...

When I was sold on GetSat over a year ago, I told way more detailed reporting was coming. It's been a long time, and the stats provided are very limited.
At least let me specify my google analytics account so I can get page view and other info. -

Yeah, to be honest, this is pretty ridiculous. I understand a start-up has an endless roadmap, but to prevent us the one thing that could yield this functionality at no cost to GS is pretty ridiculous. We're literally blind here on adoption, which is insane for a web service. And the silence here isn't, well, satisfying....

It is clearly a premium feature. If you have enough visitors to care about the stats then you probably have enough to pay for a package.
Maybe a full featured system with analytics priced on a cost per page view would be a good way to solve things.- view 1 more comment

It's not clearly a premium feature. It's a feature offered for free on many other sites - including Zendesk, of which GetSatisfaction is a partner.

I pay for the premium package but that doesn't include the ability to insert Google Analytics. You need to pay at the Enterprise plan (some $900 or so per month) to get that, which is unrealistic.

Still just silence here, and still we have no ability to get any accurate information of traffic on our community. It's such a sore point we're researching other solutions now, which is a shame.
