Hiding internal (company) conversations, possible?
Hi guys - I'm setting up a product that is currently in private beta. We want to collect feedback and issues from our first users, but we'd also like to be able to maintain our own internal dialog that isn't publicly viewable. Possible? Thanks

Inappropriate? We don't have completely private communities, but we can set your company to "private" in our system so that it doesn't show up in our search. If folks know the URL, they can access it. Would that help?

Inappropriate?Hi Scott,
I just want to be sure it's clear to you that we can make your entire company area private, but not just a specific product. Also, by "private" it means that it won't show up in our company search, but it's not hidden behind a password so if someone knows the exact URL they'd be able to get to it.

Inappropriate?hi - just removing from search is fine. thanks
-
Inappropriate?I've removed it from search. Let me know if you need anything else.

You could just test that. Type up a random "problem" post it. And google it word for word and if it is searchable it will be found. You might have to stall like an hour or two before searching for true results though. -
Good suggestion, Will. And keep in mind, helleik, that if it's already been indexed by Google, you'll have to wait until Google re-indexes. We don't have control over that. -
Inappropriate?Well, we are nervous about the opposit. We do not want Google to find our getsatisfaction posts before we make the service public. So the question is: When you remove it from your search is it still open for Google to index?

No.
