Sometimes it is difficult to locate the last response when the person has posted a reply somewhere in the middle of the thread (especially on a particularly long thread). I wonder if it is possible to have the last response automatically highlight so that it's very easy to see where the last post was made?
In addition, sometimes a person just simply clicks on "I have this question" and then you spend time trying to find the last post made which corresponds with the last activity date and then you realize the user must have clicked on "I have this question". Perhaps the box "I have this question too" can highlight whenever a person clicks on it as a way to show the last activity so that we don't scroll all over the place trying to locate the last post.

These are interesting ideas -- and well timed because shortly we will be redesigning our topic page. I agree that it would be helpful to have a visual clue of where the last post or activity occurred on a page.
I also wanted to let you know that we are not going to have the "me too" action impact the last activity stamp that you see in the meta data attached to a topic within a stream. I think this will help make that piece of data more helpful because it will mean that someone posted a new reply or comment. Let me know if you agree. And thanks again for your ideas! -

I'm giving this a bump as I think it's a good idea. I was just trying to find the most recent comment in a topic with 49 replies. It wouldn't be a problem if replies could only be added at the bottom of a topic, but comments can be added anywhere [which is good to have and definitely should be retained, so don't consider this a "fix" ;-) ].
Maybe a simple coloring of different age stages (less than an hour ago, today, last week, older than that) would already support the identification of recent posts. -

Some of these threads are long and when someone updates a post I may have no idea where the new post is. Is there a little box to click that will take me to the unread posts so I don't have to scroll down and search each threaded post?

Make it easier to click through to new replies. -

Thanks to the GS people for merging the related topics. After about a year, is there any update on Wendy's post on actually implementing something like this?

Hey guys, just a quick tip. When you click on "Go look at this reply" in the email notifications, it brings you right to the reply. So, for example, when rsx11m replied, I got an email, and I clicked on "Go look at this reply" and it brought me right to rsx11m's reply.
So, thats a tip. If you have any questions about this let me know.

Thanks, it's a workaround but not a solution (especially not for people who aren't following a topic or chose not to get e-mail notifications).

Yeah definitely not a solution.

I think your comment regarding the "me too" action not impacting the last activity stamp is a very good idea indeed. It will definitely help lessen the confusion! However, should a person select "me too", will the post still go to the top as part of the recent activity even though it's not timestamped? I think it should as it helps people to know what topics are being voted on as being featured wanted or a problem that they're experiencing. Having said that, then I still think there needs to be some kind of visual clue for that particular piece too even though it does not impact the activity stream.
