Companies who use our moderation Topic Tools can remove topics immediately. More about that located here: http://getsatisfaction.com/marketing/.... Check out #5: Remove topics.
If you need to remove it because there is something inappropriate about it (spam, abuse, etc.), you can flag the topic as Inappropriate, and we'll take a look and determine if it violates our community guidelines (http://getsatisfaction.com/community_...).
Hope this helps!

Inappropriate? Thanks for the answer, I found it somewhere else too.
But you guys should stop linking to http://getsatisfaction.com/premium it's a dead end.
I guess you are referring to http://getsatisfaction.com/pricing
And sure I'm going to pay $300-$3000 PER MONTH!? Ha
-
Actually, moderation tools are $99/mo. -
I fixed Eric's link above. The correct URL for finding out more about the topic moderation tools is http://getsatisfaction.com/marketing/... -
Inappropriate?Oh, snap! Thanks, Frederik. That URL is our error. We pushed a bunch of new stuff live last night, and now these links aren't redirecting. We'll fix that ASAP!

Inappropriate?I have a "Starter" plan and don't manage to delete topics. Could you please help?
I’m sad
-
That doesn't sound right! Can you tell me if you're receiving an error message? -
No, I just don't find the "Delete" or "Remove" button :-/ -
No, I don't see this tool bar... where is it located? -
Inappropriate? It should be at the top of every topic page.

Can you take a screen shot of what you're seeing if you can't see it? I am worried because you should see this on topic pages.
-
Inappropriate?I just want to be clear. Those on the free plan cannot delete topics?
-
Inappropriate?Correct. You can delete your *own* content within 15 minutes of posting but you can not delete other user's content with the free plan. With the moderation tools you can remove posts and replies. All changes you make get recorded in a publicly viewable changelog to preserve our value proposition of transparency and trust.

Inappropriate? One of the questions submitted through my widget was spam asking for a link exchange - http://getsatisfaction.com/affiliates...
How can I delete this from my account?
I selected "Rejected" from the Management View and submitted a note that it was Inappropriate days ago.

Inappropriate? For very small businesses like mine, not being able to delete topics on a free account is a too iron-fisted.
For example, I posted some test topics (to make sure the widgets were working) and now my studio's account is polluted with my test topics (with useless content). If I had known about this rigid system, I would've made more useful and relevant tests.
You should let small "free" clients grow with you. In the very least, you get free promotion.
I’m frustrated

Eric, you can always flag topics as Inappropriate, and we'll take a look. I've removed those topics for you. Also, you appear to have created two user accounts in Get Satisfaction. -
Inappropriate? Thanks Eric S. It looks much better. Yes, I was "testing" by posting from my personal email. I wanted to see exactly how it worked for customers/students who don't have (or want) a Getsatisfaction account. So I did not intend on setting up two accounts. That was an accident.
Just a suggestion: You all are very busy people. It might be a better use of your time to let the user/admin delete messages. Of course, you keep a log of deleted messages and customers can access it. So there will still be transparency.
However, if you don't get some overzealous "testers" like me, maybe it doesn't take much of your time to remove posts.
I’m thankful

Inappropriate? We do currently keep a Change Log of moderation actions. Another (perhaps radical) option would be to turn removal over to the community itself. Lots of options. Another option would be to provide a sandbox for people to test it out. Or, provide the ability to remove your topics after the 15-minute window expires (which we want to do). Lots of options, and I appreciate hearing what you prefer.

Inappropriate?I'm still confused because the names of the plans have changed and having reviewed the pricing & plans pages, the features sets are still inconsistent.
I'm looking at doing a $19 plan, and it appears that there too I can't delete posts? So the $99 plan is the MINIMUM for deleting posts?
Can you confirm? If so, that seems out of whack. I get it being a $19 feature, but $99 minimum to delete posts or edit topics seems incongruent with the market.
I’m confused
-
Inappropriate?I agree. It doesn't make any sense. Specifically for someone willing to invest money into this product I'd like to be able to test out it's features (even if for a limited time) It's really frustrating to not know about limitations, and only during testing realize that some things don't work as they should.

Inappropriate?Hi jcwright and Krystian,
Yes, our plans changed a few months ago. We changed the "Basic" package to "Manage" and folded a lot more in to that plan than what was available in Basic. I'm not sure what you mean, jcwright, about the features sets being inconsistent? Can you explain further?
"Promote" (the current $19 plan) is a special offer that we introduced recently to give companies the ability to "brand" their community a bit through light customization and domain aliasing.
We hear your concerns about price points, moderation tools and free trials, though. We've had a survey running and are currently working on another revision of our plans, taking all the feedback we're getting into consideration.
We also are going to be rolling out the ability for people to be able to delete their own posts indefinitely. This is high up on the development queue. In the meantime, though, you can flag your post and our community management team will remove it. If you need something removed urgently, you can email us at support [at] getsatisfaction [dot] com. -
The Compare Plans page is inconsistent and confusing. I think some things have been mentioned before -- Pro vs Basic widgets is unclear. Community management support is unclear in the hover description even though if you think about it you are intending to say "we'll help you do this".. things like that. -

Inappropriate?how can i delete a topic in my forum?? my forum is a free one!!
-
Did you read the official response in this topic? -
no. -
Inappropriate?Hi Eric,
I too can't find the Topic Tool even though I have a "Manage" account. Where do I find it?
Separately, we too populated our forums with some testing posts weeks ago to see if everything was working, fully expecting that we'll be able to delete them later on... would you be so kind to delete those all? (bccthis) - I'll mark them all as inappropriate right now.
Thanks so much!
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?OK - so I found the Topic Tool (obviously), and have marked all test posts as Inappropriate but as pointed out above, they do still show up in search etc... Would you please be so kind to delete them all?
Thank you!!!! (Company is bcchtis) -
Hi, Michael. I'm not seeing them show up in search. They should only be visible in the Change Log. For example, when I search for the word "how" I don't get any results. Can you show me a screen shot perhaps? I want to make sure I'm not missing something. Thanks. -
Hi Eric,
Strange... Immediately after I removed them they were showing up in search, now they're not. Perhaps your indexes are not real time or something? In any case, is there a way we can get the changelog reset... we were really just testing the product even before deciding if we wanted to use and upgrading to Manage etc... those scribbles shouldn't be part of what we hope will be a useful community... Thanks! -
The Change Log is our record of all moderation activity. I can't delete it. Note that no one will see the Change Log unless they specifically dig down in there, and from my own experience, the only people who ever access those pages are people who have had their topics removed. It's quite buried. -
OK - got it... I suppose once we unleash some activity on this community it will get buried quite deeply. Thank you for your help and your fast responses! -
Inappropriate?Ok. I have a serious flippin complaint. I have removed myself from following this thread. I have removed following it from my user stats, but I still get emails from this place. What the hell else can I do to stop this thing from alerting me?! Because it's seriously starting to tick me off
I’m Ticked off!!
