Inappropriate? We don't allow deleting products at the moment.
We're adding back in the ability to flag a product for review, such that abusive of spam products can be removed. -
Do you mean if i put a piece of art glass up in a limited edition of four, and i sell one i have no way to edit or once they sell I can"t remove the item. or I can"t up grade picture and edit my own items I put up? -
We aren't an auction or e-commerce site. These products just stand in for "real" individual products. -
Also, you'll notice that Scott's reply is from a year ago. Admins for companies *can* now delete and edit products from their company areas.
But as Eric points out, Get Satisfaction is for customer service around products and services, not for selling products. -
Inappropriate?P.S. We can remove the product for you if noone else has used it.
-
Inappropriate?Yeggi, what's the reason for wanting to delete the product/service?
We're gathering info about how/why people use the system, and it would help us to understand why you want to delete the product so that we can understand all the potential possibilities we need to support.

Inappropriate?I don't know about Yeggi's reasons :), but I accidentally started a product called free when i meant to start one called free and clear laundry detergent. It would be great to have the option to remove that mistyped product myself
I’m riddled with clumsy fingers
-
Inappropriate? That's a great point. People should be able to delete products that they themselves have added--I've been known to add in typos on occasion. Or maybe we confirm the product before it's formally added...
Design team, take it away!
I’m sometimes a klutz on the keyboard, too
-
Inappropriate?actually, question: would a 15 minute delete window for a product (similar to the 15 minute edit/delete window for new topics and replies) work in this instance? did you notice the mistake right away?
-
Inappropriate?I accidentally created a duplicate product: http://getsatisfaction.com/cbcradio/p...
Could you please remove it, and leave the one titled simply "Spark?"
Thanks! -
Inappropriate?Editting a product would be great! I frequently put in some data to test new apps, and I'd like to edit it afterwards before I use it for real.
-
Inappropriate?Right now a product image and description are editable, the only thing that isn't editable is the name (and as mentioned products aren't deletable). Currently the name isn't editable because it's directly tied to the URL. Making it freely editable is a development issue that might take some time to fix.
So in the meantime we could make it more apparent that the name and creation of a product *won't be easy to change*.
(It might be fun to have a play-ground where people can create and test freely.)
I’m wishing i could from a swing set.

Inappropriate?I accidentally added a service in "remember the milk" which of course has nothing to do with them. That's the point of add a "delete" option (only if you are the one who added it).
Anyway, can you delete the product I added to "remember the milk" by mistake? Thanks a lot! -
Inappropriate?oinutsik - is that the zehebar service?
-
Inappropriate?yes it is!
-
Inappropriate?Done. Thanks for the head's up on that.
-
Inappropriate?Oinutsik- did you notice the mistake right away, or some time after creating the product? (Nice geta by the way!)
I’m curious
-
Inappropriate? Not for users yet. However, the Satisfaction community managers have now been given the ability to delete products so let us know what needs to be deleted and we'll look into for you. I'm actually on maternity leave now but you can email our new community manager, Eric, about it. eric [at] getsatisfaction [dot] com.
I’m glad we're one step closer. We'll get there eventually.
-
Inappropriate?Yes, let me know if you need a product deleted, and I will erase it from the universe!
I’m getting my delete finger ready
-
Inappropriate?can you please delete this product: http://getsatisfaction.com/expertflye...
If I saw this thread, I wouldn't have created it. thanks -
Inappropriate?and while your at it, please fix the icon for the ExpertFlyer.com product, it's not showing up.
-
Inappropriate?I have deleted the EFT product and re-uploaded a logo. Let me know if you need anything else!
-
Inappropriate?Hi Eric. Could you please delete http://getsatisfaction.com/connectedf...
The reason I need it deleted is because it's no longer my company's product.
Thanks.
I’m confident
-
Done! -
Inappropriate?Hey can you please delete, http://getsatisfaction.com/mozilla/pr...
and
http://getsatisfaction.com/mozilla/pr...
Accidentally entered some Information in the wrong place. Long story.
I’m hoping you can delete it.
-
Sure thing. Will do that right now. -
thank you so much -
Inappropriate?I think admin's should have the right to delete products.
Anyone can create a product and what if they create one that is not a product of the company. This seems like a basic function to me. I don't know why you wouldn't have it.
I’m confused as to why this would not be included.

this answers the question
-
oh. did not look there. Is there a limit to the number of reply before a product is "locked"? -
There is, but I am unsure of the exact number. I believe it is around five. -
Inappropriate?I created the company, "JapanSoc" and following other examples, I added products for "JapanSoc.com", "Blog" and "FAQ", the 3 main components of the company. However, now I realize that it will confuse users because they won't know whether to start a topic in the main "JapanSoc" section, or for the product "JapanSoc.com". Of course, I should have realized this before creating the product, but too late now. I'd like to delete the "JapanSoc.com" product, but I've not yet been approved as an employee and I'm assuming that's why I have no Admin panel and can't delete the product I created? Thanks in advance for your help.
I’m frustrated
-
Sorry for the delay in approving your claim. We try to do it quickly, but it can take a few days. I've approved your claim, so you should be able to get into the admin section. -
You guys work very quickly, thank you! I see in Admin I can set a product as a default for all topics, so no need to delete it after all. :) -
Inappropriate?Actually I found that some products you cannot delete even if they don't have any topics associated. After some testing (this is what I do at work anyways) I found that the products that have Related Companies associated to them cannot be deleted, regardless of topics. When they didn't have Related Companies associated they could be deleted.
Products should be deletable by admins when they don't have any topics associated, regardless of Related Companies. Furthermore, Related Companies should be deletable from products.
I’m stunned by minor bugs in an otherwise perfect webservice
