How do I manage problematic users?
how do I manage user accounts (banning, probation, ip banning) for a custom Help Center install?
one of the real keys of any product that allows user feedback, especially if it is aligned with our brand, is the ability to have some account/management control. is this possible at all in a custom install of get satisfaction?

Inappropriate?Hi Nabeel,
You can script the Help Center via our API to do just about anything you want. But do keep in mind that it all feeds back into getsatisfaction.com and feeds FROM getsatisfaction.com so while you may be able to create more moderation / editing tools for yourself on your instance of Help Center, those edits would not apply on the instance of your community area on gs.com and you would not have the ability to ban users on gs.com.
That being said, we are working on a new suite of tools for companies and are also examining some of our policies around company control. That's not to say that we will be handing complete control over but we are trying to think of creative ways to better empower companies while maintaining neutrality for their customers. Here's a topic with quite an in depth conversation on the issue.
In the meantime, if you have a user who is abusing our ToS or Community Guidelines, you can email us about it at info [at] getsatisfaction [dot] com and we'll look into it.
I’m hopeful that we'll find a productive and agreeable middle ground
