How is Get Satisfaction different from just another forum?

I'm new to Get Satisfaction, so these are not rhetorical questions...
Why should I use Get Satisfaction instead of a dedicated google forum (which provides good search capabilities, topics can be watched, etc.)
Why is Get Satisfaction preferable to using an issue-tracker like JIRA to track user problems/requests?
