How to become an Admin for your company?
How do I become an Admin for my company? I'm currently an employee, but I'm the one responsible for my company on getsatisfaction and I'm not listed as the admin/official rep right now. What's the process for becoming an admin for your company?

Hi Richard,
When you successfully claim a company you are automatically set as an Admin. However, if your company has already been claimed you can either ask whomever *is* an Admin from your company to change your Get Satisfaction role status OR we can help you out with it. Tell me the name of your company and I'll adjust your status for you. I'm sorry this isn't clearer. I'll try to help that by creating a new help topic about this. Thanks for bringing that oversight to my attention!
I’m hoping to un-confuse you.

Inappropriate?Good question. But, when I look at your account, I see that you are marked as an admin. I am a bit puzzled. Please let me know if you are not able to access the Accounts and Roles page, which shows your employee status.
I’m not sure

Inappropriate?Amy, thanks, that makes sense.
Eric, sorry, I should be more specific, I'm an admin for multiple companies. I'm talking specifically about TeeBeeDee with my question.
I’m undecided
-
Inappropriate?Ah, gotcha. Sorry for assuming. Shall I set you as an admin for this company?

Inappropriate?I'm having an issue where I'm the sole admin and I can't assign official rep status to colleagues, even though they've registered. I see that I'm the only one who's representing the company in the admin site.
Do you know what the problem could be?
I’m confused
-
Inappropriate?Let me take a look, Min, and see if I can't figure out what has gone wrong here. You are definitely listed as the admin for your company. Have you been able to add any employees in the Accounts & Roles section of your admin panel? I don't see any yet, but I want to see if you've been successful at getting them to show up in the list.
-
Inappropriate?Hey Eric, I've been able to send invites to employees successfully via the "Upgrade one person to employee status" field. Once they register, however, they don't show up on the admin page so that I can change their status.
-
Inappropriate?Did they already have Get Satisfaction accounts when you added them?
This may be the problem: They can't be added as employees until after they've confirmed their account with Get Satisfaction. We need to revamp this process, and we're actually working on it now. It needs to be a lot easier for you to invite your fellow employees. We're reviewing this new invite process this afternoon, so it should be up soon.
But, for now, there is perhaps another way to do this. If your employees all have the same @mycompany.com address, you can set your Accounts & Roles to automatically add anyone with your e-mail domain name. Like this:

Do they have the same e-mail address? -
Inappropriate?I get it now... you have to send them an invite and then "upgrade" them by putting it their e-mail again in the upgrade field. friendly suggestion, i think there's an easier way to do this.. choose the employee level upon invite. so one step vs. two step process to avoid the granularity.
I also got the second step which makes life easier once we push the text live on our site.
thx, eric!
I’m getting this
-
Inappropriate?Well, it should be easier, yes! And, what you describe is what is coming very soon. We just don't have this easier "invite your employees" process set up yet. I'm pushing for that!
Also, employees can go through the claim process here: http://getsatisfaction.com/represent_...
Sorry for all the confusion. We're working on making it better.

Inappropriate? My issue is somewhat related - I've changed my own admin status to Official Rep in order to allow someone else to be the admin, but of course then I couldn't make them admin since I no longer had access to that. Does this mean there's no other way for me to access admin settings?
I’m concerned
-
That is correct: If you removed your admin access, you are stuck without it, but I can surely help fix this. Let me know the details here or email me at eric [at] getsatisfaction [dot] com, and we'll get this fixed for you. -
Also, you can have more than one admin. So you can both be admins. -
Inappropriate? Thanks for your replies. Long story short, I want to have the admin back for services [at] webness [dot] ro.
I’m satisfied

Done!
