i think that is what is meant in the guidelines by "satisfaction is in your hands but out of your control". unless the question is obviously a troll or otherwise inappropriate based on the guidelines, it should stay put. as a marketer, i believe companies should be open to all questions and answers provided by users. it's information that is valuable to you in creating a great experience for your customers.
the advantage you have as an admin for a company or product is that you can directly and officially respond to your customers. if there is an answer a user gives that is incorrect, you can correct it. if someone has posted a question or started a conversation that perhaps you didn't expect, work through it with them. ultimately, satisfaction is a wealth of information for both your customers AND you and it builds tremendous goodwill to be open to listening to the users of your product/s.

Inappropriate?I'm not sure I understand your question. Are you asking how to delete a post? If so, we've got a post about this here that answers this.
If you mean something else, please clarify. Thank you! -
Inappropriate?Let me clarify - I am an admin for a domain. A question is posted by another user or a response is provided. Can I delete the question (create by a non-admin) or delete a response (by a non-admin).
Thanks -

Inappropriate?yoursports,
For the short answer, your path to removing a topic in the system is through the flagging mechanism.
If a topic is appropriate for removal, us SFNers will delete with extreme prejudice.

Inappropriate?centrs - thanks for this thoughtful reply. you are right on with our philosophy.
yoursports, yes, as Scott mentions below and as mentioned in the post I referenced above we have a flagging system to help you deal with spam and inappropriate content. if something is of grave concern to you you can also always email me directly to discuss (amy [at] getsatisfaction [dot] com). Otherwise, though, we don't believe in censoring users.
I’m hoping this answers your question adequately

Inappropriate?i see - ok, can we just remove this first welcome message then, thanks!
-
Inappropriate?Never had that request before! :) Is there something in the Welcome message that isn't working for you in terms of kicking this off as a space for you and your customers?
It's our standard welcome that comes with every new company site and contains suggestions for site usage, a brief description of the philosophy that governs Satisfaction as well as an encouragement to read the community guidelines. As you add new topics to your site the Welcome message will get buried in the history of activity.
I'm curious to hear your further thoughts on this as we're still refining.
I’m surprised and curious

Inappropriate?I would also like to remove the welcome message in order to use the rss-feed on my site. Would this be possible or do I need to do it myself via Yahoo! pipes or whatever?
I know it will be buried over time but for a new site this message prevents me from integrating getsatisfaction.com deeper in my site. -
Inappropriate?Sure, Richard, I can remove that message. No problem.
Done.
I’m here when you need me
