How to set the status on topics
Community moderators (a.k.a. employees with "Official Rep" or "Admin" status) can set the status on different topic types so that community members can see at a glance that they're listening and responding and can quickly find the answer or solution if there is one. Setting the status also helps employees to easily see what topics in their topic stream still need a response, solution, answer, etc.
Here's some Skitchin' to illustrate:
For communities with the Moderation Tools, you can set the status at any time using the tools in the side bar or from the Management View.
>
The Management View:
For all communities, you can set the status from the reply form. You can also select your reply as the "best answer" to have it show up at the top of the page. Or you can select a previously posted employee reply as the "best answer".
Do this for Questions, Ideas and Problems (the status options change based on the topic type):
You get this:
No status to set for Praise. But it's nice to reply and say thanks!

Inappropriate?Hi Amy. What would be helpful is if we could find out exactly what public facing status reflects the back end. We've changed things on the back end that subsequently caused confusion for the users. I created this list.
Questions:
1. No Status = status "blank" on management page
2. Doesn't Need Answer = "rejected"
3. Answered = "complete"
(on backend) "active" & "pending" = no status on main page
Ideas:
1. No Status = status "blank" on management page
2. Not Planned = "rejected"
3. Under Consideration = pending
4. Planned = "active"
5. Implemented = complete
Problems:
1. No Status = no status on back end
2. Not a Problem = rejected
3. Acknowledged = pending
4. In Progress = active
5. Solved = complete
