Hi Mom,
Remember that time a few years ago when you had a problem with your computer and I came over to take care of it, and I spent six hours trying to fix it and wound up reformatting the hard drive and reinstalling Windows, and then after that you couldn't hear any sound from the computer any more? And then Dad got mad and told me never to "fix" the computer again, and then you told him to cool it, that I'd only been trying to help, and then the two of you got into a big fight and didn't talk to each other for the next three days? Man, those were the days, huh!

Well, GetSatisfaction.com is like that -- except, they make sure a whole bunch of companies are listening to their customers. Inappropriate?Mom, you know the diversity of the internet? Thing is, there's this little website that called Get Satisfaction, and no, it's not a handy how-to wiki. Oh, and it's probably not best to call it 'little', I guess.
Since you probably won't get the technicalities, let's just say it's a great place for customers to give ideas to a company or voice out a company's crappy service or their awesome lifetime dedication. It's a whole separate helpful place in the web; it deserves a little visit from you sometimes.

Do you remember how all you wanted was a refund and they refused to grant it? Well I know a place that you can go; where they're always glad you came and I ain't talkin about CHEERS! Often times the companies involved handle the customer complaints, but sometimes other users pitch in too. Its all searchable and pretty slick, so its easy to use and has the answers to a lot of problems already there. Oh, and you get to mark each comment with a smiley or frowny face.

Very often the answer is here, the customer service people read the questions and post solutions here as well a other customers just like you. Get Satisfaction is basically an online customer support system for a whole bunch of websites. They get back to you quickly and keep working with you, you've got a record of the whole thing, and - best of all - there's no waiting on hold! You can look through other people's questions first to make sure yours hasn't been answered already, and if not, submit a question and they'll hook you up with a personalized answer. Trust me - I've used them a couple times now, and Mom, would I ever steer you wrong?

Inappropriate?"Okay mom here it is, it's like being in a classroom and when you have a question or comment you go to the chalkboard and write it there. Then when someone has an answer or comment they go up to the chalkboard and write their answer. Then you can go back and expand on your question and then someone else can leave an answer. And you continue this until you have your answer or the teacher says, "Enough no more writing on the chalk board". Hope that helps you understand:)

Get Sat is an online community website where you can ask your questions and actually get answers, share your experience with the product and read about other's experiences as well. Get Satisfaction manages all of this information, tells me what computer and browser they were using and helps me make my website better. And I don't have to spend any time creating the button or developing the feedback tools.

Inappropriate?Getsatisfaction is a program I installed on my site to let my customers give me feedback. They tell me when links are broken (not working) when my cart is malfunctioning, when the shipping is to too expensive, when they would like to see us get other products, etc..
It has been very useful for diagnosing website issues as well as getting direct customer feedback and has helped me improve the site.

I just found this great webiste, I think you would love it.
You know when you and your friends get together to knit, you talk about all the happenings, what's new with you, your health, and more, don't you? If you are having a problem with your knees, you talk about it with them. Your neighbor suggests you take apple cider vinegar. Her sister who is also there says that when she used it, it made all of her joints feel looser and got rid of so much of the pain. You tried it, and it worked.
You talked about the red button on your CD player, wondering what it does, and someone tells you that their daughter has a CD player just like that. The red button makes the CD repeat over and over so you don't have to start it again. It was a good feeling to finally be able to know what it did, wasn't it!
You were able to find an answer to your problems and questions by talking to your friends instead of calling the doctor who would have just given you a pain pill anyway, or calling the CD player manufacturer who would have put you on hold for 45 minutes.
Well now you can do that same sort of thing for almost any problem you have.
