i can't find the product, "iPhone" ....really?
Is there really no easy way to find the real iPhone discussion
There is a product called iPhone here...
http://getsatisfaction.com/incipio/co...
but that can't really be the complete conversation.
Also it would be nice to search products and companies.. or at least search products by default instead of companies.

I have this problem, too!
Tell me when someone solves it.
The more people who report this problem, the more it gets noticed.

The company has acknowledged this problem.

Inappropriate? That is not all iPhone-related topics. Those are iPhone-related topics in the Incipio section. Incipio sells iPhone-related products, but not actual iPhones. Each topic can have a product associated with it.
The bulk of conversations about the iPhone, as made by Apple, live here, under the company Apple: http://getsatisfaction.com/apple/prod...
You can search for products from the Products page: http://getsatisfaction.com/products
Or, you can choose product from the drop-down at the top of the topic page (this page). We had talked about integrating that so that it will search both products and companies, but we're not quite there yet.
Hope this helps. Good points you're making here.
I’m glad

Inappropriate? Thanks for the advice -- I knew that stuff. My point was that I should type in iPhone when I come to get satisfaction and the top hit should be the real iPhone page... your search results seem kind of polluted.
I’m not stupid, i just want my satisfaction to be better

Inappropriate?Ah, gotcha. I certainly don't mean to imply you're stupid. Just wasn't sure where you were seeing that happening or what your particular experience was.
Understood now, and you are right: The search should probably show the most relevant -- or most important -- results. We need to improve that.

Inappropriate?thanks!
sorry to imply that you though i was stupid, it was nice of you to give me so much information.
when I come to get satisfaction with a problem (sometimes I come with cool ideas) I'm usually a little bit frustrated. Like today when I had to cancel the sync on my phone before leaving work because the sync now takes almost an hour for some reason. ...I want to just type the thing that I want to talk about and it's usually a product and not a company.
I think that you guys should get rid of the two-item drop-down ... just search companies and products and show me the most relevant result, I'll know the difference between apple and iphone.
I’m impressed at how responsive you guys are -- thanks!

Inappropriate? You know, we have talked about making the site product-centric, rather than company-centric, for this very reason that you bring up: If you have a problem with your iPhone, you don't know (or care) who to ask: Apple, AT&T, third-party app vendor, etc. We've got plans for that, but it will require some site restructuring, so it might not happen for a number of months.
I think I agree with you about losing the two-item drop-down. If we improve our search (a la Apple's Spotlight, for example), we can show all search results and use iconography to help users sort out the different types of content.
I have the same experience you do w/r/t the iPhone, and my colleague says that the new, slow back-ups for the iPhone are all about the apps, but that this is ultimately fixable, both by having Apple make fixes to the iPhone software, and by third-party app vendors learning over time to write more efficient software. That doesn't solve the problem, but hopefully it helps us unlock one piece of the puzzle (to mix a metaphor or two). You could disable the backup function, but that's probably not very wise in the long run.

Inappropriate?Thank you !!!!
I definitely think that shifting get satisfaction to be product-centric would improve my user experience.
In the meantime I think making the drop-down default to product instead of company would be helpful
Thanks for the iPhone advice too!!! My five pages of applications is probably the problem, I'll slim down and see if it makes a difference. :)
I’m happy happy!
