Interface improvement ideas II and III
Hello there,
to continue my recent interface improvement ideas I shared via a screenshot, I now want to again share some ideas, especially as I acknowledge, that screenshots instead of texts are 1. more easily to understand, 2. no(t much) need for text, 3. ideally self-explanatory.
Ok, the first screenshot has only a few changes and I added a description within:
I'll explain it anyway: I began to do these screenshots because it bugged me, that I couldn’t go quickly to the single topic, I made in the Yahoo! "space". So I created the "My threads" (or "My topics"...) tab. 2. A general or additional button/link for "liking" a idea (like at Yahoo! Answers e.g.) was something I missed since the beginning. So I wanted to point out it here again. I also want to ask: Why is there nothing like that in any "discussion" thread?
Please add such a function to the "discussion" reply options!
The second screenshot is a little bit more "complicated" (= more changes):
1. I added the "previous/next" page + page count also on top of the dashboard.
2. I altered "dashboard" to "Recent activity", this is just an optional idea, as I didn't find the space to get both "Recent activity" and the 1. point onto the screenshot!
3. I added two RSS feed links, both much more visible and with a "help" link. This one should provide more information about RSS and content subcribing. I think this is important especially for the people that have used RSS never before. Because of this I also dropped the word "feed" to minimize confusion.
4. I added icons to all tabs and added several tabs. The first tab got the icon of my profile picture and the added tabs are of course something I did propose here before, the separation of topics into their different "classes". You'll notice I used the Mozilla Firefox "options" icon for the "Account settings" icon, of course you should use one that is Open-Source/free (I'm not sure about the ones of Mozilla Firefox). Concerning the naming, I wasn't a 100% sure, either you use the internal perspective "My..." or the "dialog" perspective and name the tabs "Your...problems/questions/ideas/discussions".
5. One problem I have to point to, is the URL of mine, which is - as you can see on the screenshot - reaching into the blue box, which isn't ideal interface design, please change this!
6. I added a "Your contacts" drop-down menu on top, where I'd except that the contact (nick)names with their picture/icon appearing on the left side of their (nick)name(s).
That's it so far! :)
Kind regards.

Inappropriate? Thanks for the feedback, Philipp. We'll get back with more of a response soon!
I’m glad for the input but super busy today

Inappropriate?I'm not on the product design team but I do think that we've got some stuff planned that is similar to some of your ideas. I'll be sure our design team sees this.
Also, can you post #5 as a separate topic?
Thanks!

Thanks, I'll do that and remove it from above! *edit* Doesn't work now anymore, yeah. *lol* Should've done it extra anyway... -.-
