Inappropriate?Philip,
Could you point me to the page where the widget (i'm assuming it's a widget because it looks like your post got truncated) was locking up the load.
Also, could you re-post the pieces of your post that got cutoff; It looks like you were right about to get to the meat of your diagnosis and that would help me fix this, if possible, on our end.
Thanks. -
Inappropriate?I'm not sure went wrong, but here goes one more time with the full (offending?) code:
I was using one of the widgets here (at the foot of the page): www.ecomonkey.co.uk
Today IE7 started throwing up that horrid error: Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site. Operation aborted.
The first script I took out was the GS widget. IE7 was happy again.
Looking around for this problem I found elsewhere that adding defer="defer" iinside the script tags containing ...
src="http://getsatisfaction.com/ecomonkey/widgets/javascripts/201427/widgets.js" defer="defer" type="text/javascript"
And
src="http://getsatisfaction.com/ecomonkey/topics.widget?callback=gsfnTopicsCallback&limit=5&sort=last_active_at&style=topics" defer="defer" type="text/javascript"
fixed it. Hopefully this doesn't fezz up anything else.
Regards
Philip

Inappropriate?My IE6 users had this problem. I fixed it using your defer code. Thanks!
My widget code is different from yours. Here's where I added it:
document.write(unescape("%3Cscript src='" + asset_host + "javascripts/feedback-v2.js' defer='defer' type='text/javascript'%3E%3C/script%3E"));
I’m thankful

My fix actually disabled the feedback tab for IE6 users (which is fine, seeing as how they'd end up submitting lots of annoying IE6-only "bugs"), but I guess it's not really a fix, just a workaround. -
Inappropriate?Totally not fixed at all. Just messed up 2 sale days on our site.
Wouldn't it be a good idea if GeSatisfaction would test and update their code accordingly?
