Is it possible to modify/delete the posted answer a few days or months down the line?
I am writing the FAQ for my company. The information in the answers is subject to change. Is it possible to modify/delete the posted answer a few days or months down the line?

Inappropriate?Ruchi: Each topic (and reply) can only be edited for fifteen minutes. After that, if you are setting up FAQ-like topics, you may have to add to the same topic with updated information, or set up a new FAQ.
We're still discussing how best to deal with FAQs. They're useful, for sure -- we even have some FAQ-like topics ourselves -- and the way we deal with it currently is to add on to the same topic. But we recognize that a little more thought needs to go into FAQs.
We've considered creating a FAQ-type topic that could be edited and that is very static, but those topics probably wouldn't contain any other conversation from customers. Our goal is to create topics that can dynamically change and that everyone can contribute to, but the FAQ is admittedly a little different. I am pretty sure we'll have a more streamlined way to deal with FAQs in the future. We have even considered creating a FAQ importer for companies. But, for now, we don't have a way for companies to edit topics like this.
Please do let us know what you think, though. We're always open to feedback about it.
I’m hoping this helps

Eric -- A couple days ago I added a reply to this old thread, looking for an update...
Have there been any updates on this issue? We are also looking to use Get Satisfaction to store a bunch of Help and FAQ info. We will need the ability to update the info over time. The current 15 minute restriction doesn't work for us.
Any thoughts? -
Inappropriate? Also, one of the other things we are working on is a method for companies to deprecate old topics in favor of new topics.
So, in this case, you could create a new FAQ topic that would update the answer, and then deprecate the old one. The old one would get a link to the new topic, and the new one would replace it in search results.
---
The problem with editing Topics and replies is that after a short amount of time changing a topic wrecks the conversation that happens around that topic. Replies made by your customers no longer make sense, and the reader gets confused or the repliers look stupid :) -

Inappropriate?Perry, I am not trying to stall on this. I've just been trying to get a definitive answer from our development folks about when this will be implemented. Doing my best to get you an answer. Sorry for the delays.
-
Inappropriate? Thanks, Eric. Look forward to hearing what the plans are. We are ready to put a bunch of stuff into Get Satisfaction but are a little bit leery due to the current time restriction.

Inappropriate?I checked, and it doesn't seem that this is going to be done within the next month. It may be more realistic to simply say that we want to accomplish this, but that we've got a pretty full pipeline. The idea is that we can incorporate this kind of editing topics and replies into the current Change Log, which we use to record company moderation changes, but it will require some design and development. Might be a few months down the line, so we wouldn't want to promise it in the very short term.
-
Inappropriate? Thanks, Eric. Not the answer we were hoping for but at least we now have the information to make an educated decision. I appreciate the effort you made to track this one down.
-
Inappropriate? That being said, Perry, with the topic moderation tools we offer in our Premium Packages you can remove and bury topics and replies to replace them with new, updated ones. This could be one way of dealing with evolving Help content.
I’m hoping this might suffice in the meantime

Inappropriate? Thanks, Amy. Can you pls point me to a page that explains how topic moderation works? I tried searching for such a question but the page was deemed as "old".
-
There are details here that explain the function of the moderation tools: http://getsatisfaction.com/premium. Did you already check that out? -
Inappropriate? Thanks, Eric. I had forgotten about that page.
-
