Make RSS-possibilities more visible! [Interface improvement ideas VII]
Hi there,
I just some moments ago stumbled about this reply of Amy.
I have to say, I didn't know that you can subscribe to tags until now.
Of course I also didn't try yet, but I think it wouldn't hurt to make this prominently visible!
You could at best add a little rss icon after every tag.
I don't know if this would bug one, if there would be some massively tagged topics, but another option would be to at least add one icon after "This topic is tagged" with a short 8 pt. text saying: "(subscribe to one of these tags)", although I'm not sure what would have to follow now, because you might need to have an extra site now, what isn't really beneficial too...
Another "problem" is that I can only subscribe to tags company-wise.
Although subscribing to "bug", "interface" or "help" would be stupid on a global level (all Get Satisfaction companies and products), it would maybe make a lot of sense on more specific tags (although I currently can't think of any, than the general tracking of product/trademark related tags...). But that only as a side note...
Kind regards.

The company has not planned to implement this.

Inappropriate?I'm a big RSS users and I like to have as many RSS options as possible. I'm not sure if our design team would like an icon next to each tag. While we currently have no plans to implement this, we don't rule it out down the road if there is a lot of demand for it.
We have talked internally about how neat it would be if users could use an "RSS builder" -- a tool that lets you (Mad Libs-style) compile RSS feeds for almost all of our data. Don't know if that will be built anytime soon, but it would be pretty cool. -
Hey Eric, yeah an RSS builder would be amazing!! =) I would also prefer this over a lot of RSS icons and stuff.
