Non-public profile?

I don't wan't my GetSatisfaction profile to be public, particularly not my "Recent activity", and particularly not with a high Google page rank.

Our system is very public, and we don't have private sections of Get Satisfaction. So, it's not really possible to hide your profile completely. You can, of course, use a nickname. No one sees your email address or other account information. If that is still unacceptable, I'll do my best to help you remove specific details or do what I can to hide anything you don't feel comfortable sharing.

It would be better though if this privacy information was given when registering. Because of the option or tick-box to "use your nickname" I automatically assumed that my real name won't be public.

I have now removed my real name in my profile but I am already found on google: with my real name and with information I don't really want to share. I am discussing problems regarding my network that are of no ones business. My network has been in the press already, what if press see this information when googling my name? Not very professional.

I also still see my real name under the URL http://getsatisfaction.com/people/ + my real name. I don't know how to get this removed.

Manda, sorry if this wasn't clear. We generally encourage people to use their real names (I do), but you certainly don't have to. Once Google reindexes that page, that changed information should be gone. Also, you can change your URL once from your user dashboard, and I've done this for you. Sorry for any inconvenience.

If someone googles my name, then this shows up, including my username. This is not protecting privacy. I cant find the section that removes my name. Do I need to delete my profile to make this happen?

This absolutely needs to be more visible, because it was a very unpleasant surprise to see my support queries show up in a Google search of my name. Support queries are generally pretty private things.
