Scott finished his work on this a while back, but there was some integration work that we had to take care of before we could launch it. I'm happy to say that the final pieces are in place and you'll have OpenID (and Windows LiveID) support later tonight or tomorrow!

yeah, you'll be able to login to you account, connect an openID, and then remove your password if you like.

How is OpenID coming along? Priorities are always shifting, understandably. Can you update us on what "over the next week or two" has turned into since its been a month now.

That backend has been implemented, and we're trying to find some time for our front end guy ted to work his magic. He's been being barraged left and right with more urgent tasks. It is definitely still coming, though.
