Page Load Error problem!
When I click on the Get Satisfaction "Blog" link, I get a "Page Load Error" (Network Timeout). Note: I also have this problem on some other websites when trying load specific pages - for example, I can sign into "My Yahoo!" account but cannot load my Yahoo mail page?
Very frustrating!

I have this problem, too!
Tell me when someone solves it.

Inappropriate?Hmmmm. I seem to be able to pull that page up okay. This is probably something related to your Internet connection. That's my guess, at least.

Hi Eric, thanks for the reply. However, I know this problem is not related to my Internet connection (at least, not directly.) I can access the blog page without problem using another pc connected to the same ISP. The problem is only with one laptop and started several weeks ago. It is not confined to the GetSatisfaction website - I have the identical problem with several other websites. For example, I can sign into MyYahoo account and open all my pages except MyMail and MyCalendar (both give a Page Load Error and Network Timeout.) There are certain bonafide websites that I cannot access, such as www.cnet.com and some Newspaper and TV media sites/pages. The problem is the same whether I use IE or Firefox, and is the same no matter what my security/firewall settings are. (eg all cookies, pop-ups, etc., enabled or disabled.)
A couple of weeks ago (after this problem appeared) the HD on this laptop crashed (an event unrelated to this problem - it was just old and tired.) I therefore had to re-install my OS - XP Pro, browsers, firewall (Comodo), SpySweeper, etc. I did this one-by-one, but found that the problem remained after each re-installation.
This is a very frustrating problem. I have a suspicion that it is related to some missing Flash player or Plug-in (though I have made sure I have ActiveX controls enabled and have Adobe Flash and shockwave players on my system.) One other thing I have observed is that, on some pages that I CAN view, but are slow to load, I see ad spaces where the animated ad has not appeared; instead, there is white space with the same "Network Timeout" message and saying something like "failed to connect to atdmt.com"
I have seen problems similar to this described in some other support forums - eg, Page Load Error occurs when trying to access pages on Linked-In, Facebook, etc.
Is there anyone out there who has figured out what is causing this? I have the feeling that it is something relatively simple, but I just can't figure it out!
Don.
BTW, my laptop is an HP Compaq, nx5000 (about 4 years old) running XP Pro, Latest versions of IE and Firefox. As I said, the problem is there even when I have all firewall and browser security and privacy settings completely disabled! -
Inappropriate? Finally cracked the "Page Load Error" problem!
I downloaded the latest version of DivX. Seems that many web pages require the right DivX codecs to run videos (and ads!)
If you have this problem, go to the www.divxmovies.com and download and install the latest codec for your OS.
If you still have problems, try installing Google Chrome - I have been checking it out and have not had any problems accessing any web pages. (BTW, it appears to be faster than both Forefox and IE, too)
Good luck,
Don.
