Problem with different GS users with same name
I have seen that it is possible in GS forums to post topics by different GS users under one and the same user name.
Example: My full name used in my topics is "Andreas", but my GS user id is "akrde"; another GS user with the user id "Andreas_12345" uses the same name "Andreas" for his topics too.
But this is very irritating in my point of view, so i would strongly vote for using the GS user id additionally or better INSTEAD of the user name to identify the right users of the postings!

I have this problem, too!
Tell me when someone solves it.

The company thinks this is not a problem.

Inappropriate?I understand that it's nice to have full claim on your name. I like your suggestion of displaying the user id additionally to the user name! Thanks for that.
I don't believe we will be using the user id instead of the user name. My assumption as the designer is that there will not be many cases of mistaken identity because people will often have distinguishing user icons. I also assume that because we often deal with different people with the same names in real life, we can understand that possibility online as well.
I’m thankful for the suggestion

There are no user icons at user comments for example. So i believe this is a problem further on... -
That is true Andreas. Comments are lacking in a number of things in fact. So again the question is wether we should force a system center approached on users. Until I feel the benefits are outweighed by the downsides I will continue to advocate for open/duplicatable User names. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
