provide a format like eHow to document steps how to resolve something
Since your pages are so well optimized for search it would be really useful if whoever has the answer to a tech question was prompted with a format to document steps much like a company's support pages would.
Even better would be if those answers could get indexed with their own URL so if someone was doing a net search they could find just the steps answer instead of the whole thread. Or perhaps those steps, if voted very helpful, could float to the top.

Inappropriate?I really like this idea... in fact we have batted ideas around about it before.
What I was thinking is building this feature out sort of like an "Inverse Wikipedia". Let me explain:
If you are familiar with wikipedia, you'll know that behind every article is a talk page where people go back and forth about the content of the page, debating changes, misinformation, etc.
In our case, each discussion could have a backing wiki-ish page that summarizes the results of the discussion.

Inappropriate? That sounds good for discussions like the Tmobile / Twitter one and if it was a troubleshooting issue only showing the steps to resolve makes sense to me. I figured you'd be all over that already! :)

Inappropriate?i like the idea of being able to format responses into step by step directions. we're also looking at making it possible to format and add more rich content to your replies (think flickr photos and videos and more). so maybe one of those formats could be step by step directions or a nice integration from instructables.com or something similar.
currently the best responses to float to the top when enough people have click on "Mark as useful"! this obviously isn't being fully utilized, so we're working on improving this function and making it more clear when a problem has been resolved or a question answered. thanks for the cool thoughts trufula!
I’m confident
