Replay a Topic (or "Stealing ideas from Google Wave")
What about an option for "replaying" the conversation a la Google Wave?
I Guess it'll be far down on your roadmap... but looking from what Google presented few weeks back... it has quite a potential....
Maybe you need to tackle it from a different perspective tough. instead of just adding more and more bits of replies as the "Replay" goes on... why not make a kind of "Topic Slideshow" that will display each comment on its own (replies in their context) with some light animations... (like counting the Likes)....
Not a fullscreen slideshow like flickr does... something else, lightweight... a "sit back and enjoy reading" kind of thing that will ease your way to participate in a topic you just encountered... without the need of scrolling back and forth
I haven't seen anything like this yet. did you?

Inappropriate?I think that is a fantastic idea, since GetSatisfaction conversations are carried out exactly like Waves (non-linearly).

Inappropriate?I haven't seen anything like this, either, but it might be pretty useful for companies who want to, for example, spotlight employee responses.
