I signed up last week, now the system will not recognize my email address. please help

We have had a bug with our log-in function. The issue should be resolved in the next couple of days. In the meantime if you are having problems logging in to the site please email us at info[at]getsatisfaction[dot]com.

Inappropriate?You're trying to log in to Get Satisfaction, correct? When you say you just recently received an email, what kind of email was it? I don't see any topic participation on your dashboard, so I am unsure which email you might have received. Let me know, and I'm sure we can figure this out.

Inappropriate?Are you sure that it is the same email address? I think I may be seeing two accounts for you on Get Satisfaction, from two different email addresses.

Inappropriate?Either way, I entered the email address into the Forgot my password section and it told me my email was not recognized. This is the email that I recently received my Thanks for Registering esque email in addition to the email I received to inform me that you had responded to my problem. So am I sure its the same email address, yea, I'm sure.
Now I just tried to post this and it said I cant because my email address is already associated with an account when two min ago it did not recognize. And obviously I am logged in. GUH! Continual logging in problems are a pain in the butt.

Inappropriate?I know it may not seem like there are two different e-mail addresses, but I see two accounts in our system with two different e-mail addresses. I'll e-mail you from each one, and perhaps we can get it all sorted out.

Inappropriate?I'm having the same problem. I've had to register again today because it will not recognize my login. I ask for a new password to be sent and nothing arrives in my inbox. Yet I do receive messages in my inbox that show what others are saying in a thread I participated in on my first session. Your software is not sending a message to my inbox for password verification on either the initial registration or any subsequent attempts to get a new password. The only time I get access is right after registering and that access dies once I shutdown the browser. The reason for the failure is easy to see: there is no password ever established for the account.
I'm also unhappy with the site layout and function. Why are there separate reply and comment buttons? The reply button doesn't quote anything in the message so both buttons apparently do the same thing, except I think I see them vary the indents of each message for some unexplainable reason after an editing session. Afterwards, when the site is viewed without being logged in, the indents are gone.
This site needs a lot of fixing before it can succeed. -

There are separate replies and comments, as you note. Replies are responses to everyone in the topic, while comments only get sent to the replies they sit underneath. Comments are something like asides, but I understand if that is not apparent. -

Inappropriate?I had this problem too. I tried to reset my password but it insisted my email was not registered. I came to this thread because I thought I could post for help without signing in. I filled out my email, what you should call me, and the captcha, and it said my email was tied to another account already! Huh? Then I asked to reset my password and it worked at last.
So my problem has been solved but those were some crazy hoops. Who knows why it works now and not before.

This just happened to me too. Thank goodness you posted this! I followed your "steps" to fix it. -
Same thing happened to me. I tried to log in and was told my email or password was incorrect. Then I tried to reset the password and it told me that my email address was not in the system (which is odd because I've been getting emails every day from GetSatisfaction). Then I tried to sign up again and was told that my email was already in the database. Argh! So I followed the steps John took and it worked.
I hope your dev team is on this because it's a huge barrier to entry and our customers are beginning to rely on GS for feedback about our company. -
this didn't work for - it created a new account - now that email address isn't an employee... this is crazy -

I'm not sure I understand. You're saying you did receive a validation email from Get Satisfaction? Where do you see that error message? When you click through a link from the email we sent you? -
Inappropriate?I got the validation email, I click on the validation email, input the email address that the validation email was received on and then I get the error message. Luckily i can login via facebook connect but id prefer to login with my email

Inappropriate?I wasn't aware that we asked you to input an email address. That verification link should just take you to a page with a confirmation message. It appears that you have two accounts, which probably is resulting in confusion somehow:

Maybe I can just close one of these and put both of your email addresses on one account. Would that work for you?
