Type-ahead topic lookup slows down typing
Reporting a problem is a pain when the AJAXy topic lookup slows down writing. Sometimes it takes even a second or more for the text I write to appear in the text box.
Surely the browser's AJAX/UI rendering speed adds to it, but it shouldn't compromise the experience in such way.
Maybe a slower rate would help?

Inappropriate? In my case, this somehow more slows up the page in general, not the writing itself, it seems...at least I think this is the cause, as every other GSFN page did load quickly...
I’m undecided

Inappropriate? After using the interface for a while, the flickering of the ever-loading topic lookup really distracts me. Could there be an option to turn it just into something like an icon with a number of matched topics, that wouldn't flicker or jump, just represent the number of matched threads, with the option to manually open the box with the particular topics (if I wish)?
Honestly ... when I'm describing an issue in the box, I clearly see after a couple of sentences if there are any meaningful matching topics or not. And if there aren't, the box stays just there, annoying me, even though I know it won't come up with anything new. At that point I'd welcome to just close it, leaving me alone...
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?I hear your point about the topic look-up on the topic-creation page (where you fill out all the additional details) as opposed to looking up from the company home page. On the topic-creation page, the look-up can be distracting, especially if you're writing a long topic.
Maybe a possible solution for this would be to have the helper text fade away after you've typed a certain number of characters? We could give you a button or way to turn it on again if you wanted.
I’m figuratively thinking out loud from my mind

this solves the problem

Inappropriate?Yes, exactly, Eric!
That would be a fantastic addition to make the UI less busy while writing the description.
The main issue for me is the constant reloading of the same topics over and over. I find this point the most distracting.
Thanks for looking into the options for me!
I’m can haz get satisfaction ftw! ;)
