Updating a company update
I *love* the company update feature. However, we often post when there is an issue with our product that we are working on a fix for. It'd be great to be able to edit the company update or at least attach a "relevant reply" (like you can do on other posts) to the bottom of the original post.
As it stands, I need to post a *new* company update saying the fix is out, which seems kind of duplicative. Especially since there are sometimes updates before we're totally finished fixing an issue, it'd be great to be able to stick an updated message under the initial one ("We're honing in on a fix today").
Love GSFN, keep up the great work.

Inappropriate?Great point. There is a solution to this: Extending the edit window indefinitely, and then just putting the changes in the change log. That is something we want to do, but we haven't built that layer of the change log everywhere.
One possible alternative is to use the Company Message feature, which lets you put a message that you can change. Not the same thing, but might be helpful. Here's an example: http://www.getsatisfaction.com/ballpark/ -
Inappropriate?FYI, you can access that Company Message feature ("Message to your Community") in your Admin section under Company Details. It doesn't create a new topic, but it just posts a message in that space at the top. It usurps Company Update topics in that space.
Here's a help topic about these two types of messaging.

Inappropriate?I too think this would be a great idea. Sometimes we make announcements, but when questions are asked within the comments, it would be better to simply update the original post since all eyes first visit that.
Feels like company updates should always be editable so that we can provide the latest and greatest information. That feels more important than capturing a topic's history.
