Inappropriate?Hey, spencerfry, we've found the best way to start seeing more activity in Get Satisfaction for companies who are interested in getting the most out of our service is to put our topic search widget on your main contact or help page, somewhere above or in front of the link to contact you via email.
This doesn't replace the option for them to email, but it does give them a public alternative to consider searching/posting through before going to email. We've talked to companies who've told us they see a 20-40% reduction in email immediately, and some get as high as 80%. That is some serious cost/time savings, while at the same time building up a highly public community and all the benefits that come from that.
