Why are line breaks and urls stripped from company recommended answer
Howdy,
It seems that line breaks and urls are stripped from the company_promoted $reply.content in topic.t. However, right below, the line breaks show up. A quick glance at the page source shows that the line breaks, etc are being passed, but aren't shown.
Alas! Digging into topic-reply.t I see that content is modified with a |nl2br. Now the line breaks are there, but, unlike Get Satisfaction, the urls still don't work.
It is conceivable that this issue is already solved, but just wanted to make sure you guys were aware. Now I'm going to check out Smarty to see if I can get a link maker. If you have recommendations, I'd love to hear them.
ROCK ON,
Michael
P.S. I adopted the new moniker to put up the FAQ. Hopefully, this post won't get me in trouble!

Inappropriate?Sorry you're having this problem. I'll see if I can find someone who can answer it.

Inappropriate?Mr. FAQs is correct that there is a missing |nl2br in two places (following $reply.content) in topic.t, leading to the loss of line breaks in the rendered "Best solution from company" and "Best solution from the people."
As to the loss of the links, this is due to the mothership: the topic post itself has URLs linkified, but the replies don't get linkified. Perhaps this is intentional, or an oversight; I don't know!
I’m glad to have pinned it down
