Why did I receive two email verification messages?

I received two different types of messages to confirm my email address. Is that a bug or is someone spoofing getsatisfaction?

One message:
We’re excited to have you with us, machagurl!

A default password was set for you: (pw was here)

Can you help us validate your email address? Simply click on the link to confirm. This will also transport you to your Get Satisfaction dashboard. From there you can edit your profile and account details.

Second message:
Hello!

From time to time, when you make changes to your Get Satisfaction account, we’ll need to make sure *you* are you. We do this by verifying your email address.
