Widget Causes - IE page to not load error on Windows IE 6 & 7
When I implement the widget on a web page it works fine on a Mac with safari but with Internet Explorer - it causes the page to produce an "unable to load this page" error and drops the page in the browser. I can then manually click on the refresh button in the browser and the page will then load. Any ideas? I have had to turn off Get Satisfaction on my site until I can get this resolved...

Inappropriate? Thanks for reporting this. I'll share it with our dev team and we'll get back to you.

Inappropriate? Thanks for your response. I have added your widget code back to my site so that you can see this interaction for yourself. A little bit of background for you on this: The site is located at: http://www.macvillagepro.com/Pages/co...
The site is configured to use PHP 5 and the website utilizes a tool called RapidWeaver on the Mac to generate the HTML with a plugin called Formloom to generate the form which also contains AJAX.
Hope this information will help you figure this out -
Inappropriate?I can't get it to open using Safari. I see the Feedback tab, but it won't open up when I click on it.

Inappropriate?Hi Mac Village,
It looks like the widget code is embedded inside your sidebar. It should be embedded directly before the end body tag.
That should help with the positioning of the widget overlay, but I'll need to dig a little deeper in IE to solve your other problem.
I'll get back to you asap.
I’m confident

Inappropriate?Hey Ted,
Thanks for your help I will move it out of sidebar over to end of body. Thanks for your help!
I’m happier

Inappropriate?Hi,
I just want to report I moved the Widget code out of the sidebar and down to just before the /Body tag and it now appears in the center of the page. When I try it now on one PC running IE 7.0.5730.13 the page now loads fine with now issue. When I have a friend check it behind a corp firewall, the page will not load still. It now makes me wonder if there is something specific with the firewall which is causing this issue. If you guys at Get Sat are not seeing it then my take it is an environmental issue.
Thoughts?
I’m happy

Inappropriate?Hi Mac Village,
Sorry for the delay in someone getting back to you. I just checked the link you posted above and I'm not seeing the widget now. Can you point me the page that has the widget? -
Inappropriate?Hi Amy, I have had to pull the Get Satisfied widget off of my site since it was causing issues for IE users and I had not heard anything back on my issue. I will put this back on a test page and send you a test URL that will allow your team to see if they can figure this out.
Thanks.
I’m sad

Ok. Sorry you're having problems with it. Let us know when you've got a test page to check out. -
Inappropriate?Hey Mac Vill,
Let me know when you have a link to the test page. I think you might be right that it has something to do with the firewall your friend is behind.
I'll be glad to review your page in IE 6 and 7
Cheers,
-Ted
I’m curious
-
Inappropriate?Hi guys,
it seems that this issue was not yet solved.
At http://friendsinteraction.com we use the widget without issues on almost all our web pages, except this one: http://friendsinteraction.com/communi...
The error occurs inside and outside corporate a corporate firewall.
If you need help diagnosing, let me know.

Filipe

Inappropriate? The issue kind of dropped off because our designer needed to look at some details that the reporter maybe couldn't provide. I've put this in our bug-tracking system, in the hope that we can resurrect it and get it fixed.

Inappropriate?Just wanted to follow up and say that we still haven't been able to reproduce this bug and because of that can't really move forward. My hope is that this doesn't reoccur, but please let us know if it does.
