Connect to Facebook button fails with "The certificate for this server is invalid"
I'm using Safari 4.0.3 on Mac OS X 10.6.1. When I press the button, nothing happens in the browser window but Safari's activity window reported the above error with the problematic URL.
A workaround I found out is:
- Manually open the URL: https://www.facebook.com/rsrc.php/zEV...
- => a warning dialog comes up saying Safari can't trust the certificate because of a hostname mismatch
- Set the certificate's option to "Always Trust"
- Reload the page and try pressing the button again
It could be a problem on the Facebook's side but since I haven't seen similar problems with other Facebook Connect Login buttons elsewhere, I'm suspecting Gist's particular FB button..
