Duke I also recommend to document your case on your Website page so you will have a record of what you are doing, and when other customers search to find aout about a particular company the search results will contain reference to your problem with the company.

Hi Igor, After having copied Bob Parsons on my last communications to Godaddy.com undo department they re-openned the case so that my clients have a full week to fax one of of the following:

Ø A copy of business license

Ø Tax certificate (number alone is not acceptable)

Ø Doing Business As documentation

Ø Fictitious Name documentation

Ø IRS 501(C)3 “Determination Letter”
I have done everything that I could as their webmaster. However, I advised them to open thier own private domain accounts in addition to paying extra for Whois privacy and Domain Name Security. CyberThievery continues to get worse.

That's a miracle as they would not do that for me after several months of trying. I had to communicate directly with the thief and appeal to his senses. After some discussion his guilt got the best of him and I got it back on Easter 2008. I made him aware that whatever he did with the domain he would always be subject to being sought after as well as whomever he sold it to.

Bottom line is Godaddy could not have cared less even though they could have easily sent me a confirming email to OK the transfer. The scary part in all this was that the theft occurred inside Godaddy where I still have nearly 500 domains!

Ouch, What I went through was pure hell. it is not surprising if it was an inside job. Ultimately you need to transfer all your domains out. I still have not been able to get my gmail account back. Google asks for code and name of person who invited you. That was at least 3 pc's ago. It took me six months to get MySpace to change my account email.

Godaddy sold my domain - what the hell i have multiple account with diffrent host and this has never happend. my site name scentshop.biz was stolen hyjacked by some russian dude. I had had the site for 6 plus years lots of work whent into the site. just becouse i didnt check that particullar email that week. they sent me a email saying that i requested the site beeing cancelled - like hell. I am beyond angry this is a very good friend site that they work hard on. An big corperate godaddy sees a profitable name and cancells it and sell it to the highest bidder. That should be illeagle.

I fail to see the crime here. The domain expired back in January and apparently someone just picked it up on the open market. The domain was never developed beyond a single landing page in 2007 and could not have been a commercialized site. Are you sure about the URL?

it really dosent matter how big the site is - it for a small gift store in barrie - my point here is that i emailed godady at the time this site expired becouse i was having problems with it. and did not know it expired -nothing on the control panel indicated anything- they emailed me a response saying that the site was in perfect order and nothing was wrong. cut and paste. - they should have said hey your site is expired - becouse your credit card expired. No they said the site was fine. what the hec am i to know. if hey had acualy looked into the issue when i asked - i would have been able to renew my domain before it was purchased a month later.

As much as I would like to hammer Godaddy for all my past issues with them I have to side with them here as they are innocent in this case. They send out numerous domain expiration (cancellation) warnings beginning over a month in advance of the deletion. Furthermore there is a statutory period of a month after the cancellation which means you had to be unreachable by email for over two months!

There is an ICANN rule that requires domain owners to respond to questions posed by third parties regarding domain registration and ownership records. All someone has to do is challenge the authenticity of anything in your ownership record and if you fail to respond in a preset time, I believe two weeks, you forfeit your rights and ownership. To hijack your domain using this approach would only require a priority reservation on the domain and the complaint filed regardless of its merit.

The bottom line is... You must have an active email account and or a good credit card on file. You likely violated a handful of terms in the agreement provided by Godaddy regarding the aforementioned.

Sorry but this was 100% your fault as you could have logged into your account at any time and seen firsthand that you were about to expire. Relying on customer service for anything is a gamble. Always verify and never "assume".

i understand it expired - i found that out - my point is that i contacted godady with problems and they said their was nothing wrong with the site. I have the email and will post it. I said their was something wrong - they said that the site was fine and operational . If the domain had expired (logicaly) they should have responed with your domain has expired - not your site works and nothing is wrong. If they had looked into my concerns at the time i could have repurchased this domain - Ibefore the new client did a month later. their customer service fluffed of my consern and sent me a cut and paste not-

I cancelled this site and deleted it - i give up i jus twant a good coldfusion host that wont sell my domains on me. i bet they got more then i was paying for it

I see your problem now. You were dealing with hosting support that is not part of domain management. These are two totally separate departments! You might as well seen a foot doctor for a headache.

Again, the bottom line is that you should have maintained a valid email account on file at Godaddy so you could keep an eye on important messages regarding your account.

If you stop making car payments and you move to another residence without notifying the lien holder you can expect to see a tow truck driving off with your car!

I am as unbiased a bystander you will ever find on this matter and I am telling you that YOU are at fault 100% due to your failure to receive and act upon multiple emails that went unanswered. There's no equivocation here, none.

a little off track considering anyone reading this note would assume everything in the account is fine. - I read it and know no diffrent. I know over 8 languages and saw no issue. How is anyone to know. And as far as the car thing goes I dont know were you live but they dont take your car for missing a payment (they call you to see if theirs an issue (call automated or not) - and if they do they take and charge an extra fee to get it back. They dont sell it to someone else unless your not willing to pay.

- I looked ( very nice). But it still stands that they have shaddy domain practices that screw people, that may not be as good or as informed as you Jack. Any one reading the email would see their is nothing wrong. ( becouse i thought something was wrong - but i didnt know what)
And the admin panel did not indicate any cancellation or potenchall cancellation.
which is strange becouse one of my other accounts does. they sold my domain I wasnt notified at all. Support is support they lied to me with their emails saying it was fine. i will always belive that they stole my domain and sold it to the highest bidder. If they had accually looked into my problem this would have been corrected.
Godady has no support just kids cutting and pasting responces - they dont care.
Ya im agry - I lost a half day dumpen the site finding a new domain and uploading site the database. Its works now but under new host - not goaddy ( my customer was pissed ) -
